Dublin for the weekend and your footloose and fancy free to do and go where ever you want? You should already be happy about that alone!!!

Go Wild, Go Nuts and have a great time when you're there!

Have a look for the Tourist Info sites for Dublin as its probably the most popular Tourist Destination in the area, there will be loads on their website or links to places you can go, eat, party etc.

Forget about the boyfriend for the weekend, he fell out with you, his loss....enjoy yourself and enjoy Dublin! Cheers.

I would not worry about finding things to do in Dublin, you'll find them on every street in the city. You'll end up wishing you had more than four days :)

Oh.... Hun, bless your little cotton sox.... That is just soooo sad......
Erm, there is lots to do in Dublin, surprise surprise, the Irish love a tiny drop or two of the old alcohol too!
Grafton St and all around that area is where there is all sorts of pubs and clubs and what not - the shopping is OK too..... The Irish are really friendly as well, so that should help?
Here is a huge <<>> just for you. Silly b/f doesn't know what he is missing!
Puuuurrrrrrrr.

Go on the LUAS metro towards Tallaght. Sit on the left side on the way out. Watch out for the sex shop. Get off at the stop near the sex shop. Fill yer boots with dodgy porn and toys, and then get the Luas back to near Grafton st. Have a few pints in one of the pubs there.
As with any big city, watch out for pickpockets.

All above sais in jest, except there is actually a sex shop that can be seen from the LUAS!

i'll go bump our thread of places we went to

edit: cant find it but i enjoyed Kilmainham jail, which was really interesting - http://www.kilmainham-gaol.com/

we also done a ghost tour which was great fun! - http://www.dublinbus.ie/sightseeing/index.aspx

we visited the storehouse but i thought it was quite boring  the view from top was cool tho - http://www.guinness-storehouse.com/

this time i would like to do a liffy cruise
#14
I'll take Deans place if you want :)

Seriously though by all accounts Dublin is an excellent place to visit so I am sure you will find all sorts to do and keep you busy! I'd love to go and soak up the atmosphere.

I am stayin at the fitzsimons. Its only a 2 or 3 star but its right in the centre of Dublin and has its own bar and nightclub.

You should go to Finglas and get a free pony ride, or even better go to Vicar Street stables - it's great craic!

There are heaps of tourist information places in Dublin, they'll give you a street map showing all the different tourist attractions dependent on what interests you. I'd highly recommend the natural history museum, the bog bodies are something to behold. There are plenty of things to do during the day, many of them are free so it won;'t cost you a fortune to entertain yourself which is good as eating out and drinking can be dear.

It's hard to advise you on what you can do as there really is so much to do, my best advise is to get yourself to the Tourist board, there's a massive one on O'Connell street just up from Burger King and gear your days around what interests you most. Dublin's a gorgeous city, steeped in tradition and history, and really, really busy. I'm not used to real big cities and found the air quality shocking last time we were there, about 4 weeks ago, but apart from that it was ace :) Enjoy yourself, and bring some books and indulge yourself with pamper time - good meals, baths and early nights with a good book and a bottle of wine and box of choccies at night. If he's so stubborn that he'd give up a holiday in Dublin over an argument then he's a bit ot a twit really, you'll have more fun without him xxx

If you're bored get the train up to Belfast and I'll take you out for the night, send me a pm on here :D

Shops are great-but it s dear.

Have lovely coffee & cake stops and some treats-eg.manicure etc.

Have fun-its easy there!

I agree! We were shocked by cold Guinness at the top there.
We enjoyed the guided tour around the castle ..
..but I'd say it's pubs and live music that Dublin has got going for it.

You don't have to drink alcohol ( if that's what you mean) in a pub; you can join in with the live music.

But I bet I wouldn't be sad if I was an alcoholic or a binge drinker.
What a stupid comment!

We went and stayed in temple bar in july - it was fantastic !! Loved every minute of it ! As you say the live music at night is the best, noticed the other night the fiddler in the magners cider advert is the same one that does the live sessions in gogarty's.

Glad yu enjoyed your time there and boyfriend didn't let you down after all
