homologous series all keep both electrons me thinks. homo=two of same, so just think of it that way.
hetero= one of each, so each radical gets an electron
it is free radicals youre talking about right?

The homologous series with C8H18 is the alkanes - each alkane differs from others by the number of CH2's in the chain.
