Child Labour Slavery Used For Commonwealth games stop the BBC

Apparently young children are now building the commonwealth site:

What can I say, think about these kids when somebody is doing the 100m or some stupid event on TV, and the child labour that has gone into your viewing pleasure.

If hardnosed firms take a dim view to child labour practices, the BBC should be no different about what went towards making its shows. The Commonwealth games should be banned from the BBC, or the BBC should seek to address this issue.

This is really old news.
And they are not building things like stadiums, they are just carrying rocks and stuff.

India is a different culture to our own, it's better they earn money this way than have to scavenge through a rat infested dump site.

Well I used to live in Egypt, and child labour exists there too everywhere.

Now you could see it as a bad thing (i.e. if they are being pushed too hard and beaten) - But if they are not, and are getting a wage for labouring, it's better for them and their family as normally if a child is working at a young age the money that the family is earning already is not enough, and as little as the money is, it's a lot to them out there.

When I was growing up my Mum used to make me strip the wall paper off the walls.

My grandparents used to make me wheel barrow leaves and mud up and down the garden all day long, damn slave labourers grrr and my Mum's boyfriend made me milk the damn goats.

they should have it over here for kids that misbehave, might teach them some manners and stop them causing trouble on the streets

I make my 3 year old nephew clean my car inside and out. I pay him in Wham bars (2).

Usually takes him about 8 hours, sometimes 6 if I pay him up front.

Look at pic 9 ... I hardly think that child is "working directly in construction" ... he/she looks about 2 and is just toddling along with a small bucket - probably playing. I doubt it's as bad as that article has made it out to be.

Half the stuff in your house will be made or in some way in the chain come from child labour.

Zoolander gonna assassinate the president?

Pointless thread, you were probably sitting in your chair in trainers and clothes made by children while you typed it out.

This has been going on for years we have it on our doorstep in britain today the problem is the attitude of british people is as long as it does not affect them they dont care or if they are making money out of it the reply is tough.we have departments here soley to protect children but it is not happening. you have goverment officials who dont want to know unless their name or photo is in the news in fact when the kids leave school and take up an apprenticeship some companys wont even pay the rates set by the goverment and the powers to be know damm well this is going on but turn a blind eye. unless it suits them i agree what you say but lets start on our own country first and weed out all these parasites who are exploiting our kids.

Non story. They are just "there" along with their parent. They are hardly shackled.

If anything, the benefit abusers should use these kids as an example and get off their fat asses and get to work.
