Children - How loud is too loud?!

Is it acceptable to let your children run around the garden screaming at the top of their lungs whilst banging metal poles together all bloody day? It has been going on nearly every day for the last couple of weeks, at least three hours a day as well!

The children next door (about six of them) are driving us mad, the noise is incredible. Their parents don't care at all (drunken benefit scroungers).

I don't remember being that loud when I was younger and I am only 22!

I am not saying children shouldn't have fun but these children are so loud, it isn't normal! Even having the TV turned way up doesn't drown them out!

Apologies but I need to rant............and buy some earplugs!

Nope, my neighbours are idiots and my boyfriend's neighbours are idiots - I have no escape!

However saying that, my boyfriends loud neighbours have quietened down but I think that is because several people went round and complained directly to them (apparently all met with abuse but it seems to have done the trick)

Thanks but with these neighbours I know all about anti-social behaviour. We have alot of trouble with them. Generally it is either children screaming or bad language coming from their house.

They are already in plenty of trouble with the HA because of their behaviour, I pray for the day they are evicted.

Have you tried giving them sweets smeared with superglue? It'll stop the screaming and the banging will stop while they're in A&E.

Good luck hun , weve just had some good news from the landlord to our lovely neighbours .............NOT, animals behave better, the property is a mess, banging doors, foul language, oooooh could go on all night , but anyway we contacted there landlord who told me to report to asbo team (which we did ) and hey ho he phoned last night ! hes given them 28 days notice, yipee !!, helped that they are thousands behind in rent though :w00t:

As for kids noise in general in garden, i think its nice to hear them ( if like mine just screaming and laughing and having fun in swimming pool or on the trampoline ) but i do always consider neighbours and tell them to lower there voices/laughing !:)

I agree, it is nice to hear children playing but these children aren't playing, they are demon children. They get home from school and are shoved in the back garden for a few hours and all they do during this time is scream, hit things (or each other) and swear. None of them are over 10 years old but they have all learnt disgusting language thanks to their parents. At the weekend they are out there pretty much the whole day, their parents don't take them anywhere.

We know that some of the privately owed houses nearby have made complaints against them due to their language and how loud it gets so we are hoping that will help sort them out.

Honestly, if I had one wish it would be that they moved far away and never came back :x

I remember being extremely loud as a child playinmg in the garden......or nearby fields with my mates. Think tolerance levels have dropped considerably. My neighbours kids are out all day kicking a football or racing their bikes but I have no issues. Al least they're getting fresh air.

If it was late evening I'd be peed off but it stops by 8pm ansd they are nice kids in my neighbourhood......:)

Keep wishing and do what i said ( asbo team ) and hopefully like us you will get good results ! we were dreading this summer with the shouting , fighting, screaming , foul language, dog barking from the scum next door ! and thats just the kids ! sorry BRATS ! but thankfully we know the landlord ( as he lived there previously , remarried and then rented his house out ) so he thankfully listened to us , advised us what to do, he backed us up and has now given them notice YIPEEE !, might have a better time in garden now during summer hols whilst we enjoy the sunshine in swimming pool :-D

My next door neighbours kids are the worst!! Only the other day the boy was punching and kicking his sister, he then got a badminton racket and threw it at her more than once, and she was shouting on top of her head swearing and all sorts! Kids these days!

I hate to tell you but siblings have been beating seven shades of crap out of each other since the very beginings of time. Kids today are no worse or better than previous generations.

I don't agree, kids today can be much worse than when I was growing up.... today kids no we/thier parents have no power other than to restrict their treats/television. When I was growing up if I was really naughty just a look from my dad would stop me in my tracks, he never hit me or anything, but the implication was there.... the other kids dads were frightened of him, so why shouldn't I?? LOL

Would have more sympathy if I had not read this nasty little comment dropped in the middle of your post.

So would you be happier if they were screaming heads off with a posh accent?

Wasn't really looking for sympathy, more venting my anger. Also it is not a nasty comment, it is 100% true. Neither of them have worked a day in their lives, they live on benefits yet can afford lots of alcohol and cigarettes (probably because they don't take their children anywhere) and they just keep producing mutant offspring to claim more benefits.

Trust me, calling them drunken benefit scroungers was being polite.
