no everytime i go to buy one the reviews out me off.....everyine recomends a cheap normal camera or even a cheap waterproof normal camera.

if its real cheap then get it...im sure kids will get bored soon and their piccies arent gonna be works of art... if u can accept that then u canjustify buying it x

The general advice seems to be spend the money on a cheap digital camera, rather than one actually designed for kids
#3
One designed for kids wont really have good quality as it is just for kids, get a cheap digital camera not the kids one

son has the vtech one and then i got grandson the waterproof fisher price as they used to fight over it! anyway i planned to give th fp to my son as he is a little older(6) and i was led to believe pic qualiy is better, but he wanted the vtech as it makes puzzles from his pics and he can edit on the camera. Yes expensive, but yes worth it imo as they LOVE them. Grandson is 3, and there is no way either of the kids could be trusted with a real camera. My son takes pics with my mju but i wouldnt like to let him loose on his hols round the pool with it. Also take into account if they have younger siblings destroying toys...there is NO point in buying a cam if it spends all year in the drawer as they need adult supervision?

I totally agree, people who say to buy little children a real camera obviously haven't met children like mine!! They wouldn't last 5 minutes with my youngest. My eldest (7) wants a camera from Santa so I've bought her a real one as she's sensible but my youngest (3) who wants one because her sister's getting one would be a nightmare, it wouldn't last 2 minutes and would be smashed all over the floor in pieces.

I've bought her the v-tech one as after reading the reviews it sounds like the most fun and she wouldn't want the photos printing off anyway, she just wants to see the photo on the back and then play about with it on the computer. Why do people think that this age bracket children want to be David Bailey, they just want to be kids and I think these cameras are fine for that job. Chill out !!!

lol my son takes most pics of peoples bums, feet, or noses...and then makes a jigsaw of them-i have never put them on the comp or printed them for obvious reasons:oops:
Grandson clicks away 20 every minute but loves it! im sure your daughter will love it-but get a memory card too if you havent as it needs one as only stores a few pics-and son also loves the video mode. A small card is ok i think sons is 256..

My Little Boy (aged 3) loves his Fisher Price Camera. I agree the pics arent fab but are good enough. He loves taking it to the zoo and on walks and i dont have to panic about him dropping it. Early this year i dropped my own digital camera and it smashed into pieces and was knackered so theres no chance i would have risked buying him a cheap normal one.

The reviews put me off the camera and when i got it was very pleased, id look out for an offer on as they are quite expensive.
