We already have ours up indoors and out..

nah not really but there are houses on a local estate still have last years lights up!

Ours will be up as late as I can get away with and down as soon as I can too. I think they are naff looking and tacky. If it wasnt for the rugrats I wouldnt bother at all.

I'm a bit worried about putting my tree up this year. My little girl (who will be 5 at the beginning of Dec) will be fine with leaving the tree alone, my 3 year old boy will probably try to rip it to pieces and climb up it, and if he leaves it alone for 5 minutes then I've got a 6 month old and 5 week old kitten that will more than likely be trying to climb to the top of it. Maybe I'll just draw a picture of a tree and stick that on the wall instead :-D

Beginning of December I expect. 2nd Christmas in our home. :) Last year we moved in just before xmas and had slapped the xmas tree & decorations up around 1st Dec if I recall.

I had a couple of those 'named' stockings made up last year, so we have one each with our names on them above the fireplace. Very festive.

Moving into our own place has really spiced up Christmas again, or turned me back into a kid, and I do look forward to decorating the tree again this year!

I actually started my shopping a few weeks ago, be it all online ordering, so I'm well on top of things. :santa:

We have had to have sharers in to the 2 spare rooms this year to offset the ever growing cost of everything but I don't think it'll affect things too much, and as far as I'm aware they'll be away over the Christmas season.

I spend a fortune on my decorations, i don't get them from the pound shop and such like, so i wanna get the use out of them :) but yes it is mega early but like i said there is a reason.... I'd put them up tonight if i had my way though :)

Is the chuff getting a xmasy design this year LLM?

I'm sticking some mistletoe on my baubles!

Ours used to go up on my daughters birthday every year, 2nd dec, but since we got a cat, he's a pain in the arrr*e with the tree, he climbs in it and tried to rag it to pieces lol, drives me mad so I leave it a bit later now, about the 10th ish.

Might play a trick on the kids........lie about the date and stick em up on Boxing Day and see how long it takes them to twig. :w00t:

We used to do the 7 days before and after mullarky, but since having children and the eldest getting to the stage where she knew what was going on (they're now 7 & 3) we've started putting them up at the very start of December but the day after boxing day they come down, I can't stand it after Christmas now with a bare tree, nothing underneath and knowing that there won't be anything for another year, depressing, so they come down. The best part of Christmas is the build up to it so decs need to be up early IMO !!!!

You might be surprised, our eldest daughter (now 7) was always quite laid back so I never had any trouble with her and the tree but her younger sister (now 3) is totally different, mad, psycho, stroppy, high-spirited and I dreaded the first christmas but she never bothered with it, I was totally gobsmacked. I think she went to poke a bauble once but I told her off and that was it, never again.

The biggest pain in the bum was when we had a cat, now that might be where you have the trouble, she used to bop the baubles all over the front room, although someone did say to get a real tree with a cat as they don't like the spikey needles and leave it alone.

GOOD LUCK!!!

Probably the first weekend of December. My ex colleagues have invited me to their Xmas do that weekend as well so I'll be feeling all festive. I'll probably have a bare tree by the second weekend though as my cat likes pulling off the baubles and hiding them!

:giggle: Do you find them later? :p

17th Dec is tradition when all the family birthdays are over and down by the 10th Jan before my mummies birthday usually take them down 2nd Jan).

Every year different colour themes, decide in Jan sales and get JL decs 1/3rd of the price, old traditional wooden decs this year.

I always wrap empty boxes so that the tree doesn't look bare after everyones taken their gifts.

cats have been trained not to jump at tree, they just box the baubles and they get a stocking each too, sad I know lol
