we go to the most insane carol service you ever saw! a local church allows kids to bring their pets to the carol service on christmas eve-dogs trying to bite bunnys/cats after hamsters etc-its hilarious!

last year someone even brought a goat! our dalmation is determined to get that bunny this year.

dont see the point in celebrating the day before a celebration, its ludacris
[mod]#16
When the kids were little the nursery school would send them home with small bags of glitter mixed with oats to sprinkle outside in the garden on Christmas Eve so the reindeer knew where to land - kids loved it :santa: Plus the standard carrot, milk & cookies beside fireplace. I'm starting to feel all Christmassy now :giggle:

i love christmas eve i go get all veg and fruit in afternoon (thank god the shops have shut lol) then we all sit down watch a xmas film then after start getting dinner ready for next day we all pig out on xmas food the kids are banished to their rooms then i start the baileys while trying to organise the presents finish the baileys then open a nice bottle of wine to sit and relax then run stockings up to their bedrooms without waking them mind you my lot are 20, 18 and 15 lol but its the same every year and i hope it never changes

my kids are in late teens now :-( but it used to be up very early clean the house from top to bottom, cook the turkey, have turkey butties for tea, kids used to site under the christmas tree with there new pjs on singing carols (under duress lol well the were rewarded by opening the tin of roses) off they would go to bed, while me & dad would have a lovely drink staring at all the presents set out ready for the following day, Christmas Eve for me is the best day of the year, as for christmas day, toys everywhere sweet wrappers everywhere stuffed to the brim, but I loved every single minute of it :santa: wish they were young again......................

When the children were little we used to get watch the snowman and have a Christmas picnic by spreading out a table cloth with piles of party food and the kids would eat and laugh and have a great time:santa:

The anticipation of Christmas Eve is by far better than the day its self the magic of the late hour when all is quite is just perfect

Living room floor picnics are the best. Our kids love them. Having a dog around ensures there's nothing left over too!

This thread has got me in a real chrismassy mood. Our tradition is son (12) now and I get pjamas on ( the only night of the year i dont have to ask him to get ready for bed) and get a chinese delivered !! not lazy but its my birthday on the 23rd so ime usually still a bit sensative and will have had a couple whilst prepping the dinner. We both get to choose a christmas film each, mine is always the same one " a christmas carol" the one with Ross Kemp in it, and a box of tissues at the ready cos it always makes me cry ..
