Christmas Hamper with no Alcohol-anyone seen a nice one-£30ish

After a nice hamper to send to my nan and grandad-but would need to be without alcohol-which is the problem-they all have wine in !

They don't drink filter coffee either and the only ones i can find are unsuitable for a couple in their 80's.

Maybe i am too fussy-i really just want some treats-nice biccies, jam, chocolate, cake, nuts etc.....but they live too far away for me to make one up and take it round (across the sea and 200 miles away !).

Checked the shops i could think of like John Lewis, Debenhams, M&S...just wondered if anyone had seen any on another site who do delivery-rep given for any help-thanks

You could probably make your own cheaper. Plus it would have only things you know they like in it.

My thoughts entirely, we did one for my husband's grandad a few years ago and just went to Asda with a budget in mind and bought things from their "taste the difference" range that we knew he liked eg, jams, baileys, mince pies etc. A lot cheaper and there won't be anything in there that they don't like, either wrap an open box in christmas paper and put the items on top, or if your budget allows, get a small basket either from Asda or they sell them cheaply in Wilkos and put them in there, they can then also use this basket afterwards.

Thats what we're doing. We bought baskets (hampers!) in the 99p shop this year! About a third of the price than the ones in Wilkos!

I would suggest doing your own, its more personal, you get more for your money and its stuff you know they will like so none of it will go to waste

My daughter did this for me last year. It was so perfect. All my favourite things that she knows I love and a few personal items. Framed family photo,DVD of my favourite musical and other personal touches. All in a basket which she had bought and finished off with big red bow. Best way to do it I reckon:thumbsup:

Belgian chocolates (140g)
Organic milk chocolate & toffee biscuits (150g)
Organic shortbread fingers (200g)
Lemon curd (325g)
Seville orange medium cut marmalade (454g)

And I think Marks just do the most lovely stuff, I may even get this one for my Grandma, especially if they have another 20% off sale this week.

Do, do your own. You know what they like and get those things. You can add personal things as said above. Pictures, a poem maybe.
Also if you are sending it by post, you could shred lots of brightly coloured paper or even glossy mags as packaging. Also use a p o flat pack box.
They will love it because of the thought that has gone into it.

I made one for my friend last year for xmas with lots of yummy spa treats in it. Basket from Dunelm, cellophane to wrap it up and a nice bow to tie it up.

I think it's a much nicer idea to make your own xx

thanks for all your help-would love to make my own, but as i said they are 200 miles away and across the sea-so it isn't really an option-not sure the jars would get there in one piece-or the biscuits n less than 1,000 pieces !

Looks like it will be M&S or John Lewis-thanks for your help everyone:thumbsup:
