I took my mums and tots group to see santa in the forest this week, it was a really good day and the kids loved it, of course they were all covered in mud by the time they went home but was well worth it. :)

How about making some reindeer food to put out for Santa on Xmas Eve?
I know it sounds sad but kids love it!!
Mix up some porridge oats and glitter with a bit of a honey (or something of that consistency) then put it in a jam jar with a bit of cloth or cellophane over the top, tied with abit of Xmas ribbon from pressies.
Put it out for Santa on Xmas Eve, then when the kids have gone to bed, spread a bit out over the drive / doorstep / path, so that you can show them on Xmas Day that the reindeers had some!
But don't put it on the grass, its a b*gger to clean up off grass!!
Its all about the magic of Xmas!!!!

awwww im sure each age brings positives and negatives...yeah they might show their affection moreso...but at least u can do more adult things with them and not have to take nappies and wipes with u! hehe!!:-D

mine don't break up til Friday and again they're older than yours, the santa's grotto thing sounds good, i can only suggest stuff like making and doing things, christmas decorations etc.(nightmare i know) or things to tire them out, soft play centres, swimming:) I imagine I'll be spending most of next week taking deep breaths and counting to ten, 'cos my 2 could test the patience of a saint, they're quite well-behaved but it's when they start agitating, drives me crazy.:w00t:

tell me about it...as i type my lil un is destroying the living room!

Whereabouts do you live, know you mentioned Bluewater so this may not be any good for you, but Twinlakes is fab at Christmas but it's in Melton Mowbray. It's only £6.50 each with a lot of rides still open plus skating rink which in cities costs around this price alone, they've also got an animal farm, children's rollercoasters and loads more. I've a feeling it might be a bit too far for you but if not, I'd definitely recommend a visit.
