so just found out our manager has put his name down for our works xmas party wtf!!
we are only a medium size firm with about 40 ppl
what do you guys think is there an ulteria motive in this decesion
ie wants to get all the goss and scandal (and what we really think of the firm) or his he just a genuine guy?

I'd go with the hope that its part of 'team building', you work together so it'd be great if you could socialise together too!
If it looks like he;s just spying, get everyone to buy him drinks, he'll think you're all great, and he won't remember anything in the morning :D

I've never worked somewhere where the manager DIDN'T come to the Christmas do. They usually end up paying for it...

I don't see what the problem is? If he didn't go I would see it more of a problem, like he was ashamed to be out with you all :D

Reflects the worker / manager relationship they have there really, which must be poor.

I remember one at the Ramada hotel,one of my co-workers bumped into Deacon Blue in the lifts,we were all so jealous at the time lol
