Right, sick of these, I now have 4 HUGE Ulcers inside my mouth. I suffer from them regularly and they last around 2 weeks, which is agony!

Anyone else suffer this bad? Its not my diet or anything, i would have sorted that - people have recommended mouth way, bonjela etc NOTHING WORKS. Willing to try anything even if it seriously damages my health as im sick of this :D

Cheers!

there are tiny little tablets you can get from boots, there about £5 for 20, you place one on ulcer 4 times a day and after 1 day they are gone, cant think what there called now though, i have never suffered with ulcers till last year and had a few, must have been run down, and nothing shifted it, went into boots and was sold these, they are good, also can be got on prescription

swill your mouth with warm salty water.

(other warm salty fluids are not advisable though)
#5
Yeah to both questions:P

get some vitamin b12 tablets from Boots they will help. You get ulcers due to a deficiency in b12
#7
Have you been to your GP they have some stuff on perscription only that helps

I too suffer from these... I think the longest I must go without one is a couple of weeks...

I tend to stress a lot, which I think is what causes mine - I'm a bit of a worrier...

My mam has bought me some gengigel gel to try (cost her a fortune too), as my dad (who also suffers from them) said it's been the only thing to work on his. He said as long as you put it on just before going to sleep, it's a load better in the morning. Otherwise, it just rubs off too quickly.

Adcortyl in Orabase always clears up my ulcers pronto. Put it on before bed wake up in the morning and they're almost gone!

If its a regular occurance I'd get the GP to check them out as there may be an underlying cause .

I use this too and it always helps and also Anbesol for instant relief, Bonjela isn't strong enough IMO

Hope it gets better soon

gonna try go and see the doctor soon, try and get some of this on prescription :)

make aptt. to see dentist as well... doctors might help with easing the symptoms but if its ur teeth that are causing the ulcers isn't it best they were sorted? just a thought.

ask the doc for nystatin - my mother has mouth ulcers all the time and this is the ONLY medication that works, we now keep a spare bottle as it comes back every couple of months, caused, we are told by her eating sticky sweets, she loves softmints.
The other remedy that I prefer is LIVE yogurt this really does work kills all bacteria in the mouth, was recommended to me by NHS Direct Nurse and tried and tested - it has to be Bio LIVE
Good luck I know how truly uncomfortable this can be

1) Avoid having too much cheese
2) Avoid drinking milk after 6 in the evening...

Hottoshop is right, if you are suffering from chronic mouth ulcers you need to see your doctor as there are many (some quite serious) reasons they can occur!

Thats what i've done any time i've had an ulcer, works a treat, after all the salt kills any bacterica.
I kinda prefered licking my finger, pouring salt on and dabbing the ulcer with the salt.
Salt goes right into the ulcer and kills any infection and its always went away withing a day, maybe 2 max.
Your face will screw up though lol

Iv tried salt loads of times, just hurts real bad, and the ulcer goes huge!

Gonna try and get some strong medication for it, its not natural!

Good advice  there can be an underlying cause if you get them so often - a weakened immune system and being generally 'run down' can cause them. Best to get it checked out - I hope you manage to find some relief though, they are soo painful. :)

I have suffered from ulcers for as long as i can remember, i get about 4 in my mouth all in different places, the tongues the worst though.
I have been to my doctor and dentist and they both said some people suffer from them some dont. Simple as. There are certain things to try and control them and reduce swelling etc but nothing to stop you getting them. Some people suffer from cold sores all the time but i never get them. I think its just one of those things your destined to suffer from. Ive tried everything, bonjela is useless as it rubs off straight away, TCP and salt water dont seem to do anything either.
The best thing ive found is Corsodyl, prescribed by doctor. Its not for prolonged use as it can stain your teeth but its been the most effective thing ive used.
Good luck

I'd agree with this - my husband had an accident where he bit his tongue almost in 2 and Adcortyl in Orabase helped him enormously.
