Churchill Home Insurance, £80 Quidco and payment speed of 1 month £29.20

Hi,

Just renewed my buildings and contents insurance with Churchill through Quidco. I've paid £109.20 for £40,000 contents cover, £250,000 rebuild. I've gone for the basic cover without accidental damge or legal cover. I also reduced the excess to just £75 and I've protected my NCD.

My quote is based on a 2 bedroom flat with over 5 years NCD on both buildings and contents.

Quidco is showing £70 but has just tracked as £80 and the payment speed is just 1 month.

I have had home insurance and car insurance with Churchill - Both were the best quotes available and both gave quidco very quickly.

I got £100 back on their car insurance last year via Quidco. Paid within a month.

Voted HOT!

Wow, that seems a very good quotation even without the quidco.

This is my first ever post!
I am chuffed to bits, have saved myself £200 a year on contents and buildings insurance and can also look forward to cashback from Quico!! I LOVE this site!

better off splitting home & contents insurance amongst different insurers. I got £100 quidco from natwest for a £60 contents policy and £90 quidco from aig for a £160 buildings policy.

also note that buildings cover should be based on rebuilding cost, not the value of your property. too many people pay over the odds as rebuilding costs are about a third of the value depending on location/type of property of course. Also, insurers can reduce any payout if you over or under insure your property by a big percentage.

Just to clarify, the £40,000 contents and £250,000 buildings is Churchill's standard cover!!

i was of course referring to policies where you have to enter the values yourself!

We don't?! So, you'll be moving all the mobile phones offers into misc from now on?

So. This means HP deals like these should be removed due to cashback?

And a post made my duckmagic should be removed? This deal being based on TWO lots of cashback?

No. Please read the thread I posted in the misc forum. Those have an actual deal attached. It's not just a "cashback amount". If you wish to discuss, please do so in the feedback thread, instead of highjacking this one. Thanks./

Ok - will do :)

Hi, can you tell me how long it took for your Quidco to show on your quidco account? Got some insurance today and is still not showing up on my quidco yet.:x
Thanks in advance:thumbsup:

I was also thinking the same, makes you think why bother posting anything. Now hardly anyone will see this. I'd say it's a pretty hot deal, maybe we shouldn't be mentioning or including Quidco cash back on any future posts.
Can anyone clarify this?

I did my car insurance through them last week and the cashback tracked within one day and validated a few days later. Due for payment next month :-D

Oh also it did track twice (got very excited) but only one amount has validated so I guess the other £100 will disappear into the ether at some point

got my insurance with them with quidco, £100 tracked and validated no problems, due to be payed this month, very quick, i,m a very happy easter bunny now:thumbsup:

My mate has had his tracked for 3 months , payment period has gone & now Churchill is no longer on Quidco .He is very worried because he could have got it cheaper elsewhere if the £100 hadn't been taken into account .

I don't want to scare people but it appears as though we have all lost our money. The big winners here are Churchill's who have conned us all into taking out their insurance through Quidco. My home insurance tracked on the 24th January and still isn't validated. I've got an open ticket which still hasn't been responded to. I chased the payment in April and got a reply straight away.
Admin2008-04-01 16:03:44Hi Scott, thank you for your enquiry. We are still awaiting payment for this and should receive it soon. The payment dates shown on your earnings screen are there as a guide only. Kind regards Richard Quidco Member Support Team

Same with me. One of the fastest cashbacks ever, and I thing the largest single cashback too! Well done Churchill

Finally had the reply below:
Hi Scott, Churchill have decided to no longer be part of cashback sites, however they will still honour transactions that were made while still live on Quidco. We are waiting for payment and this should be received soon. Kind regards Richard, Quidco Member Support Team
Should be getting the £80 soon, the policy was only £109.20, one of the best bargains this year and my policy included both building and contents cover:thumbsup:
