Hi i drive a rover mini sprite 94 and because its pretty old it doesnt have a cigarette socket so i cant use my satnav as its battery life is poor ( 1hour max) without charging which is awful without the charger - is it possible to hook up a cigarette socket and if so how easy

Also i was looking to get this cd player
http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?storeId=10001&mpe_id=62857&cm_cr=No+Campaign-_-Web+Activity-_-HP+P6+931535-_-PRODHOME_ESPOTCAROUSEL-_-Kenwood+KDC-W3041A+CD%2FMP3+Player&intv_id=108119&partNumber=931535&evtype=CpgnClick&langId=-1&catalogId=10151&ddkey=ClickInfo

but because my cars old will they have any problem putting it in ?

Radio question first; depends on whether your car has ISO plugs (the standard type for radios) or not. If it doesn't, you will either need a converter or to wire an ISO block yourself.

Getting power for an internal low power cigarette lighter I would suggest using the supply to the radio. However, if you are upgrading the stereo and powering something off it for the cigarette lighter, you may melt the wires used for that as they are unlikely to be up to much. In which case you will need to write the cigarette plug directly to the battery, through a hole in the bulkhead. You usually would use an inline fuse, too.

Good times....!
Yep owned two minis and loved them )Still trying to get the wife to allow me to get one but...!!!!)

For the radio, no problems with it, just need to wire it up correctly onto the ISO block that should come with it.
As for the socket, pghstochaj summed it up perfectly, but have you looked at or are you a member of any mini clubs or forums? They might even have a taylor made socket ready for you?
