Cineworld Gift Cards - A Warning regarding Glasgow Renfrew Street

This is just a post to warn anyone who has received, or is thinking of giving someone, a Cineworld gift card that the Renfrew Street cinema does not accept them at the moment.
It would be good to hear if anyone else has successfully used them in another Cineworld cinema.
The story if anyone is interested is as follows:
My girlfriend's mother recently got us a couple of the aforementioned gift cards, just coz she's nice like that.
So we took a trip into town last weekend to see a movie (not saying which one as it was "ladies choice" and I secretly enjoyed it).
On producing the gift card, we were quite rudely told
"We're not accepting them, the system's down"
No apology or anything. I was pretty annoyed but before I could have a go at them, my other half's got cash out and asked for two tickets.
Anyhoo, I never really thought much of it, I'm an IT person, I know systems go down all the time, I was more annoyed by the shocking customer service at the time.
However, last night we went to see Transformers, again with the gift cards, and were told again that "The system's down".
This time I wasn't going to let them off the hook. I called a supervisor over and he informed me that the system was not down but using the cards would cause their system to crash so they wouldn't do it. He went on to say that they have no idea when the system will start accepting the cards.
At least this time he did give us two free tickets for our inconvenience.
I would be interested to hear if anyone else has used the cards and how they got on.
