City Link Problems

I have been expecting a delivery from amazon for a netbook. I paid next day before 12:00 delivery at the cost of £10. Got despatch notice via City Link yesterday and everything was going as expected.

Waited and waited this morning, nothing. So at 1:30pm decided to track the parcel online only to find that it had been delivered and signed for at 11:54!!!

There was no actual signature however it shows 'signed for by (my surname)'.

What should I do and where do I stand here? Anyone had similar problems with amazon or city link? How are amazon with dealing with these kind of problems?

Thanks

Calling City Link would be the sensible thing to do

I have tried, no answer I think they are closed :x.

What are the chances it will come later? Or is it lost/stolen?

Have you forgot something? There are no flights

How do you think parcels get shipped around the country so quickly?

probably been signed for by driver and taken back to depot as he was running late.....you will no doubt get it on Monday...I would call Amazon and get them to investigate, get a refund on the delivery charges at the very least

But why was it returned?

The reason why i'm a bit miffed is because i paid £9 so i could have it today. Been waiting patiently all morning and nothing. Really frustrating.

if it's showing as being signed for it would not have been taken back to the depot, may have left it with a neighbour otherwise they pop a card through your door. Don't they?

I don't know, driver couldn't be bothered, was running late, faked attempted delivery to get paid, who knows.

All I know is hubby had O2 send his iphone through and this is 18 months ago now as he is due an upgrade.

I was in all day, got in and it said delivered signed by ********* he paniced, found out the enxt morning it was out for delivery again and had been returned to depot.

So maybe it's the same thing, maybe not, if it is maybe it's a thing their drivers do.

Thanks for the help guys and girls.

Just got a knock at the door and low and behold it was him. Only 4 hours late. Don't really care now though as long as my parcel wasn't stolen.

Makes sense, he probably had lots of parcels that needed to by there by 12. Started signing for them before it got to 12 so it looks like he had done his job, then done it with the rest of tthem.

Just of interest do the courier delivery people get paid per item they deliver? And fined if they don't deliver before 12 if it's been requested for then.

Did you sign any forms when they did turn up and make note of the time when signing since you should be able to claim back the delivery costs through Amazon (who in turn will claim them back through City link) since you did not receive the service you paid for. it looks like they pre signed it to tyr to make it look like it was delivered before 12

yep had same problem with citylink before too... was expecting delivery before 12 noon and when it hadn't arrived checked online and it said it'd been delivered. So phoned up and said that no it had not been delivered as I had been in waiting for it. They phoned the driver and she was on her way they told me, and within about 30 mins she was at my door. She said she got a right telling off (for want of a better word, lol) for doing that. But she also said that the bosses know it happens and that with the amount of parcels they have to deliver and in such a wide area it's impossible to get to everyone before 12pm and they won't employ more drivers to do it. so best thing to do is phone up amazon and tell them what happened and request your delivery chjarge back.. and then amazon can do the same with the citylink ***** who are getting paid for a service that they can't deliver on (no pun intended)
