I know this has been asked a million times, can I not just use the normal furniture polish, and blue cloth that I clean every other screen with ? Will it actually damage the screen or is it just a con to get people to buy £5 a ml cleaner, and what if I can't use anything I want should I use ?

Just enough water to dampen one half of the cloth then dry off with dry side of the cloth.

I doubt it is better than a water and micro fibre cloth. Water will get it clean, there's no degrees of clean when it comes to cleaning screens, it's either clean or not and water does the job perfectly and is free.
