I don't agree with the forum turning into we all should love the Conservatives so discuss your thoughts

One Hotukdealer thinks we should listen to his drivel as to why he loves David Cameron

I don't agree also created a forum for Gordon Brown

Personally Clegg has my vote, although my heart tells me I should vote Labour.

Then vote clegg if you are in a seat the libdems might just win from the tories. Otherwise, vote Labour. Basically just keep the tories out best you can
#3
We need electoral reform as votes need to count

Tories dont want is as they lose out,

Personally I prefer proportional representation, but people don't like the idea of extremists having seats...I think it bring balance and contrast to a country.

yeah its a tough one I studied different methods of PR and I think it certainly is the fair way to decide on who is elected but would be better with

Additional Member system
Party List
STV

maybe a discussion for another day

Yeah I did some work on it back when I was a GCSE History student, not for the course, but as an extra thing as I thought it was interesting...my teacher thought I might make a politician after reading it, but for a new party, maybe even started by myself! Certainly not my idea of a good life!

+1, certainly a fairer system and may help to encourage some of the non-voters who think that their vote doesn't count, go out and actually vote:thumbsup:

Not far off...I chose Law! I know a mate of mine is doing Politics and his essays always sound more interesting then mine, although he thinks mine always sound better! But I think that is because he likes the criminal side of law, whereas I don't!

Yeah I loved the degree especially foreign policy and went onto complete a post grad in globalisation and Islamic politics (thought it would be good to see things from the other side of the coin) - I thought about law myself and even considered it at post grad level but couldn't decide whether to study Scottish Law ,English, European etc etc was abit of a minefield for me so just ending up sticking with politics lol

See last election - Labour got 34% of votes but a mjaority government - how did votes made for other parties count then?

We eally do need some reform - and dont believe the paper hype about coalition governments meaning the UK will become a disaster area - see Germany, largest and strongest economy in Europe....coalition government

Well our degree was structured so that although obviously majority was English law, you do a minimum of two full modules on European law as well. The first module on European was very interested and actually made me want to take up a language again to maybe see a future in it, then I done the second year module and its all procedure, procedure, procedure!

Muslims who want to live under Islamic Sharia law were told on Wednesday to get out of Australia , as the government targeted radicals in a bid to head off potential terror attacks..

Separately, Rudd angered some Australian Muslims on Wednesday by saying he supported spy agencies monitoring the nation's mosques. Quote:
'IMMIGRANTS, NOT AUSTRALIANS, MUST ADAPT.. Take It Or Leave It.
I am tired of this nation worrying about whether we are offending some individual or their culture. Since the terrorist attacks on Bali , we have experienced a surge in patriotism by the majority of Australians. '

'This culture has been developed over two centuries of struggles, trials and victories by millions of men and women who have sought freedom'

'We speak mainly ENGLISH, not Spanish, Lebanese, Arabic, Chinese, Japanese, Russian, or any other language. Therefore, if you wish to become part of our society . Learn the language!'

'Most Australians believe in God. This is not some Christian, right wing, political push, but a fact, because Christian men and women, on Christian principles, founded this nation, and this is clearly documented. It is certainly appropriate to display it on the walls of our schools. If God offends you, then I suggest you consider another part of the world as your new home, because God is part of our culture.'

'We will accept your beliefs, and will not question why. All we ask is that you accept ours, and live in harmony and peaceful enjoyment with us.'

'This is OUR COUNTRY, OUR LAND, and OUR LIFESTYLE, and we will allow you every opportunity to enjoy all this. But once you are done complaining, whining, and griping about Our Flag, Our Pledge, Our Christian beliefs, or Our Way of Life, I highly encourage you take advantage of one other great Australian freedom, 'THE RIGHT TO LEAVE'.'

'If you aren't happy here then LEAVE. We didn't force you to come here... You asked to be here. So accept the country YOU accepted.'

Maybe if we circulate this amongst ourselves in Canada & USA , WE will find the courage to start speaking and voicing the same truths. Don't forget to say "Merry Christmas"
