Do This on the Calculator on your Mobile Phone.......

1) key in first 3 digits of ur phone number(not area code)
2) multiply by 8
3) add 1
4) multiply by 250
5) add the last 3 digits of ur phone number
6) add the last 3 digits again
7) subtract 250 8) divide by 2

Ok, I've just done it again - pressing the = button at the end of every instruction - and my answer was the first three digits of my phone number, followed by the last three digits.
Very clever!!

Slightly different version, which may work better for some:

Key in the first three digits of your phone number (not the area code).
Multiply by 80.
Add 1.
Multiply by 250.
Add the last four digits of your phone number.
Add the last four digits of your phone number again.
Subtract 250.
Lastly divide by 2.
Is it your phone number?

Almost - it is the first three digits and the last four digits - only one digit missing.

So presumably if I key in my first 3 digits, do the steps, add my last 5 digits twice and do the rest then I will get my full phone number? And I don't know why I'm bothering with this - I'm off to look at something else!! Thanks op.

For those it isn't working for press equals at the end of each task!

Do you have a 7 digit number?

It needs to be a 7 digit number.

What all the complicated maths bit does is the equivalent of multiplying the first 3 digits by 10000, and then adding the last four digits on.

So 1234567 becomes 123 x 10000 = 1230000 + 4567 = 1234567

Thats exactly what i said when i had it sent to me!! Must take ages!
