Clontarf Castle not honouring bookings made over the weekend

Just had a call from Clontarf Castle stating they could not accept my booking made over the weekend for 12.80 euros and there had been an internet clitche. The man said I can still reserve the room fro 128 euros or they can cancel my payment. I explained that I have already booked and paid for my flights now and that the booking has been paid and accepted in full so they should honour the booking. I told them I am going to discuss this matter with Citizens Advice now.

if the payment actualy went out of your account then you have them by the short and curleys as they accept the agreement by accepting payment and as far as i know when you buy and pay for somthing they cannot up the price after

If you paid by credit card, contact them for advice and possibly backup with regards your payment.

If all fails at least get them to discount their normal 128 rate as goodwill and compensation.

We stayed here and it was really nice. Shame about the mix up, but at that price it's still worth going. I agree with wee_paul. Talk nicely and ask them to discount it or add in breakfast for free/ evening meal for free.
It's unlikely they will back down to 12.80 Euros, and are you really going to go to the hassle of it all? I suspect you will find that as they have offered you a full refund, they are not obliged to accept the reduced rate.

Sad its happened but i think you be best just to go,specially cos it be the flights wasted too,I be hacked off too about it.

TBH - doing thats useless!

I used to work for 1 of the major banks CC dept, only thing they will do is try to get your payment back if its already been taken.

They have taken a desosit from me, but not the full amount. Do you know if this still means I am entitled to get it at the price the reservation was confirmed at.

I really dont understand some people, yes if theres and error on the website fine. But if its a genuine error and they revoke the price etc. deal with it, these fantastic places cant run on pennies, they would not exist if everyone got these massive error/discounts. pay them what their rate is , and accept the fact there was an error.
