COD MW 2 resolution on ps3???

Downloaded a demo of this earlier and it is coming up as blurry on my screen. When hitting the ps3 menu it looks a lot bigger and blurrier so am assuming the game is either running in 720p or lower. Can anyone with the game clarify what resolution this games supports?

Lower i think - like 640p or something?

edit: Actually, it's 600p: http://www.gamezine.co.uk/news/games/c/call-of-duty-modern-warfare-2/modern-warfare-2-will-render-at-600p-$1314777.htm

thanks, brings me onto my next question though....does every 1080p screen support 720p as well?

1280x720 should be supported by a panel that can do 1920x1080 60hz

Which monitor / tv do you have ?

Upscaled or not, the difference is huge.

I have a BenQ G2420HD screen that should support full HD. Can I just ask....when playing MW2 and hit the ps button on your controller, is the menu as clear (HD) as it is when your not in the game? The menu when not playing a game comes up crisp on my screen but then during some games it comes up with the menu being a bit larger and blurrier.

Difference between 720p and 1080p is debated and very little between them on 360/ps3/* not like the jump from 480i/p to 720p which is like going from black and white to colour.

Between physical render 1080p and physical render 720p yeah you can really see a dfiference(in detail/ textures usually) but when upscaling is being used you simply cannot make a silk purse from a pigs ear.

I thought the game blurred the menu screen (action behind) it's part of the game afaik my ps3 version does it as well as my 360 version

Well I couldn't give a rats ass about specifications. The difference in range of view / crispness between the two resolutions is big, I play on a Sony HD and anytime I have to use my other 720p panel it's horrid going down to that resolution.

me neither :lol but you cannot compare apples and oranges, eg 2 different makes of tv/monitor maybe two different connection methods. screen size "" etc.

one will always look better than the other as some have better upscalers, better panels/ hardware/ better colour spec setup .

Absolute rubbish, period.

There has always been people stating there isn't a difference or not much, the difference is HUGE, I have two very expensive screens in my house, and whenever I watch anything or play anything I'll stick on my glasses also because unless you have 20/20 vision then of course you're not going to see a difference.

Grab a 1080i BR and then a 1080p BR, if you think after there isn't much difference then you either need a new screen or glasses.

A blu-ray is different because it's a native 1080p source but MW2 isn't - it's not quite even 720p resolution which means when the PS3 or TV are running at 1080p they're simply filling th extra pixels automatically as there's no actual extra information there as with a native 1080p source.

Even on MW2 the difference is there (unless your eyesight is bad).

There might be a big difference between 720p and 1080p, but there's not much of a difference between 720p and upscaled 1080p, because it's not true 1080p.

You lose your argument because you choose to only quote part of a post, The other part of that post you quoted from me agreed with your yet posted post, told you that when the source is 1080p rendered then there is a difference betweeen 720p and 1080p in the detail textures presented. Anyway there are others on here now you can argue with for the rest of the day. sf :lol

It's already in the posts 1024x600 :lol It's that high.

So yeah pc wins the port war.
