Ok im sure you've all seen the coinstar machine that counts you change and charges about 9% to do it. Well i went to tesco the other day and the self check out had a hole to put all your change in and it counts it for you and charges you 0% to do it.

Ive got a bottle with about £70 in change and know where im going to be using it up(tesco self check out).

Hope that help a few othere out.

But these machines are pretty picky on what coins they choose, we have on at our local tesco and if you chuck in aload of change, a few coins come out, so if you did this with a whole bucket full.. ;o

Don't know about the tight wad part... but would be very annoying if you're in a hurry and get stuck behind someone doing that for sure.. especially as there's only 2 self checkouts at our local :(

My tesco has a coinstar, ~9% commission if you want cash or commission free if you spend it instore.

Moved to Misc as this is a heads up rather than a specific deal

Morrisons and Sainsburys and Asda use the 'hole' self service too.

Does anyone know if you get change from your voucher at Tesco if you use your Coinstar voucher for groceries and don't spend all of it.
