Cold voting! Grrr :(

I posted a deal earlier, and it just went from 30° to 0.6 ° in a matter of seconds. Really gets me mad, with no comments on why they have voted cold. Wish I didnt bother now. Just wanted a quick moan on here, most people on this part of the the forum always seem to cheer me up.

oh right, seems alright to me (brought you up to -1)

People do it all the time, i wouldn't take it personally, i think that people should have to comment before they vote. But hey :)

Yep me to, it really puts you down when you go through the effort of posting just to be bombarded with cold votes when its a good deal, especially if your looking for broadband.

Seems quite a lot of comments in the thread about the company.

Don't let it get to you.

I am thinking these are the reasons that people voted cold and they are the 3 year contract and that it is Redten internet doing the deal, I also think people are just voting it cold because other people have (ie. being sheep)

There were loads of reasons in the thread why people might have voted cold - 3 year contract, aging pc (worth maybe £200 at the moment) that isn't yours till after 3 years... Then the fact the company recently went bust.

Whilst £13 for '8Mb ADSL' might sound promising with the gimmick of a rental pc with it, do you really think it will still look a good deal in 30 months time? And consider what would happen, if, for instance, you accidentally break the monitor after 12 months. You'll be liable to either pay their stated price for repair/replacement or you'll be tied to your contract for 24 further months...

Yeah to be honest for the reasons above it's not a hot deal. I for one think that deals shouldn't be voted "hot" just so someone can feel good. However, I do think cold voters if voting cold for a reason not yet expressed should say so we all know what's up as jah128 has done above.

wouldnt code voting and saying why just keep it on the front page where it shouldn't be

No the opposite - the cold vote would bring the temp down and that is what determines something making the fp.

It's gotta be better than replying to someone's request for help, only for no thank you (or for that matter, so much as even a response) to be forthcoming. I can handle the cold voting for no reason, but ignorance really peeves me off.

Are you talking about me? I didnt ask for help, I only made a thread about how annoying cold voting is without reasons. I didnt reply because I went to bed.

I didnt want to feel good Admin, actually I now feel even worst, I made this thread to say my annoyance to people who vote cold with no explanation.

Sorry everyone, I have had a real bad couple of days, alot of bad things have happened lately, and every little thing is getting to me.

I know what you mean about cold voters. Just think of this site as a game and the members as cyber folk, it has nothing to do with real life, if something winds you up just log off and go to MSE, getting lost over there will make you forget all your problems.
I hope things improve, at least the Sun is out, well it is where I am.:-D

I rarely cold vote as well... if it's not an offer i am interested in, I don't vote. if it's an offer I know nothing about, I don't vote... well perhaps if it was already at 400 or 500 degrees, I'd tag my heat onto it too :whistling:

you know, i thought your deal was a good one. i compared the deal with the aol one, and even though its over 3 years it still works out at £270 cheaper than the aol and thats over 2 years! so maybe people thought it was cold, but it sure wasnt spam.
Thats my 2p's worth.
