If anyone were following the progress on a particular petition currently, they have now; due to the upcoming G.E.; been cancelled. I was interested to watch an upcoming debate but was unaware that this can happen. therefore, I thought I'd just draw other people's attention to this in case it is of any importance.

Personal politics aside, I do find this a bit farcical that they can just knock all current petitions out and not revisit them as the new Government convenes. New Government or not, an existing petition and all it's entrants/signatures should still surely stand? What do you think?

If you're unhappy with it, you could always create a petition...
Oh, wait...

I was looking forward to the tv licence debate that was due very shortly. I think they should pick up where they left off afterwards.

Petitions are the last refuge of the slacktivist. With little to no impact.

Had a valid registered email, when signing a petition, been used then they would have received an automated response to said petition(s) about a week ago ;)
