Can any of you helpful souls with a PS3 recommend a USB Memory Stick that definitely works on a PS3 please.

I have loads of USB sticks ranging from 512mb to 16GB and the only one that works is a Toshiba Transmemory 2GB.

Please, only tried and tested brands not what someones Aunty or Uncle read on a forum somwhere.

Cheers

I have never heard of any that don't work. :?

How odd, I have seen on other forums that people have had problems, but you tend to read that much any info you pick up starts contradicting itself.

Its the 40GB PS3, so I don't know if there maybe differences. its just a nightmare the 2GB Toshiba works a treat, the other cheapy one I have at 2GB won't entertain and the 16GB won't even blink.

I just need someone to say ..."Yes I have a 8GB blah blah and its works on a 40GB PS3" :-D

Maybe it the way you have formated the USB drive.
Or press the Trainangle for display all on PS3

Okay.

I don't have a PS3, but did have to transfer a load of files from my brothers before he sent it back to Sony a few months ago. I used a Micro SD card in a Sandisk USB adaptor with no problems at all.

His was a 60GB, but I wouldn't have thought it made a difference.

Hmmm the 60GB had the additional USBs and the Memory card slots didn't it? and was PS2 backward compatable, so nothing like the 40GB which i'm sure Sony Skimped on.

I'm a little skeptical about comparing the 60Gb with any of the others

I thought the PS3 used FAT32 formatting? Your sticks could be NTFS formatted...?

All formatted multiple times with FAT32

Have you done the lastest update on PSN..?
Mine works with every USB or mP3 storage device.

Might be something wrong (faulty) on your PS3.

Thought that, but doesn't explain why the Toshiba flash stick works.

I might do a restore on the PS3 and start from scratch see if that makes any difference, failing that may take the damn thing back, its still under warranty.
