Your help = Rep

Hello all

I'm looking to change my desk in my room to one that can handle all my computer bits! I got my desk when I was a kid (!), and obviously I had very little back then :(

Now I need a desk which accommodates:

- A 16" laptop
- A 23" Samsung Screen
- Printer space (although not vital)
- Space for working (with books)
- decent storage space (for all my books)
- preferably wood
- a corner unit would be good for my room

Let me know what you guys think.

I'm also looking to get a new office chair. Any ideas for a relatively cheap but decent one?

Thanks

I have had a corner desk from Argos for over 2 years, still really like it:

You have to buy the Morgan corner desk, then add 2 end pedestals for support, these can be from a selection of cupboards.

Then search for the end pedestals.

Here is an old picture from another forum I took of the setup, plenty of space and the cupboards are big.

I have the double cupboard (one shelf inside):

The other end is a single cupboard with a pull out shelf on rails (for scanner) only went for this as all others were out of stock at the time (can't see this on the website anymore), would have liked the A4 filing cabinet:

Here are some others I found:

There maybe more, also it's in a choice of Oak and Beech now, not just beech. Just mix and match what you like, as a minimum you need the corner desk and 2 end pedestals.

It never looked very nice on the Argos site, but once set up at home looks great. If you read through the link to overclockers forum there were about 4 or 5 people that bought the desk after I posted. Seem to remember they were all happy with it!

Also, there's nothing stopping you from adding a 2nd end pedestal next to another, they will just sit up against each other but allows you to extend.
