I use Broadband and cannot receive or send emails.

I went into OUTLOOK EXPRESS, TOOLS, MAIL and deleted POP3 address and dont know how to reload it. I think this is what is stopping me using email.

Can anyone help reload this? What details do I have to re-enter. HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This will depend on who your ISP is. You will need to recreate an account in Outlook Express and enter the pop3 details for your provider along with your personal username and password.

Sorry really naive with computers what is an ISP?

when I try to reload details it asks for: INCOMING MAIL A/C (IS THIS POP3?) , then OUTGOING SERVER SMTP(not sure of this).

Those are the address details of your ISP. ( Internet Service Provider ) the company you have your broadband with.

I am with Telewest. Do I have to contact them or can anyone help as they charge £1 a min on their helpline. I would be very grateful.

Anyone with a Telewest account can give you the address details for the POP and SMTP server. The only other details are your own personal ones which you need to sign into your account. They will be something simple like pop.telewest.com and SMTP.telewest.com but that is purely a guess.

What is your email address would be the first question - or at least the bit after the @ sign ?

Thanks for your help.

****Can any Telewest computer owners looking at this please help a very distressed woman trying to desperately fix her computer with the details reqd. (SEE ABOVE POST NUMBER 6)FROM A VERY HELPFUL HOTDEALS CUSTOMER****

You will need to speak to Blueyonder/telewest in order to get these details. No-one here can help you get them unfortunately as they are individual to you. You need the username, password, smtp and pop3 servers, and also the settings for authentication. Once you have these we can help.

try saynoto0870.com - type in the number and hit enter - see if a landline or 0800 number comes up instead

I could ask WHY you deleted your POP3 address, but anyway.

I am a Telewest (now Virgin) customer and my details are as follows:

Servers - Incomng Mail - pop3.blueyonder.co.uk

Servers - Outgoing mail - smtp.blueyonder.co.uk

In the "Incoming Mail Server" field, where it asks for "Account name" you need to put your Telewest acount number, mine is LLnnnLnnnn (so that is two letters, three numbers, a single letter, then four numbers - for example ab013d4567 - but of course yours may be a different format).

You will also need your telewest pasword for that account. If you have not changed it then it will be on the original letter you got from them.

WHen you joined Telewest you should have received an e-mail called something like "Welcome to the Internet". This will contain your main e-mail address and your password.

Assuming you haven't altered these, you need to use the following information to set up your e-mail account:

POP3: pop3.blueyonder.co.uk
SMTP: smtp.blueyonder.co.uk

You will also be asked to enter your e-mail address and password, so use the information that was in that e-mail I mentioned.

You may be asked for your host name (I don't use Outlook so don't know exactly what it will ask), in which case it's: blueyonder.co.uk

But surely if you have just joined Telewest they cannot send you an email with this information as you will not be able to log on to the e-mail to look at it. Chicken and Egg.

I got a printed letter when I joined.

Yeah, you get one of those too. ;-) But the OP had deleted their POP3 infromation, so I assumed they meant that they had previously been getting e-mail, so hoped they would still have it in their mailbox somewhere.
