Thanks in advance because I'm always asking questions and get quite a bit of help from this site in all aspects, so great to be part of this site

I have a network called MSHOME, the default, and I connect to it via my applemac, however I want to change the password, I must have set up the password ages agao, and I know what it is, but want to change it to something more memorable.

How do I do this...

I access, the Network, MYnetwork, computer name eg xyz12423x then the files so I want to add a new passord to the mshome network that I can remember better.

Thanks in advance

why not just write the password down. Saves a whole heap of potential problems messing with a fully working network.

I'm guessing you are on XP Professional O/S

1. Press Ctrl+Alt+Delete to bring up the Windows Security dialog box 2. Click Change Password to get to the Change Password dialog box
3. Input your current password into the Old Password text box
4. Input the desired new password into the New Password text box and type it again into the Confirm New Password text box.
5. Click OK.

I have setup a password on my user account, however it seems that when I access my network via the apple it doesnt matter what I put in my authentication, it let me in, so my network isnt secure

so how do I change this and get it all secure

I don't know if there's any way to secure a workgroup/subnet/whatever it is (although I would imagine so), but I would start by making sure the network all the PCs are on is secure. If it's entiredly wired there's not much to worry about (unless you have lots of nosy friends over) as you'd have to physically connect to it to get in but if it's wireless it needs to be using WPA or WPA2 security to be secure (you can go into the router setup to change this and the password for the wireless networking, check your router documentation on how).
