ebuyer have some good forums where you will probs get some better advice. We got our last mobo from scan, and the processor from ccl. depends on what you use your comp for, no point in getting top end if you only use it to surf the net and do word docs.

It's probably the most involved thing you can do hardware-wise, although still perfectly do-able with the amount of online tutorials available. The thing is you have to disconnect all the hardware, then re-connect it to your new motherboard.

Well the computer turns on but the monitor stays in hibernation mode when plugged in to computer.... Like monitor just plugged in on its on not will come up eight the screensaver but once u connect it to pc it goes to sleep....

Guy I know says its graphics card but its built in to motherboard soooo 'apparently' I can't buy just the graphics card it needs to be motherboard as well???

You can buy a graphics card and fit it into one of the slots which should be free if it's onboard graphics, then disable the onboard graphics in the bios.

tbh if your guy is telling you that you need a new mb and you can't just get a card because it's onboard graphics then I wouldn't bother asking him any more.

As others have said, get a cheap graphics card.. When you plug it in it will automatically disable on board graphics, this is to allow you to upgrade graphics.

How do you know that the computer turns on? What signs of life does it show?

As someone else has stated, you can install a new graphics card and the motherboard will bypass the old one, or you can change it in the BIOS settings. Easy.
