ccleaner ^^^ is very good. Run the registry tool & it removes all the remaining bits when you've uninstalled a program. It does it in layers so you may need to run it a few times until you get zero results.

I didnt realise how much ccleaner has evolved. havnt used it for over a year! thanks guys hopefully it will work

PC Optimizer is a good program aswell but i dont think its free.

cc cleaner works on Vista/xp and is free
