I wouldn't think any of those are rsponsible for slow running...try downloading ccleaner...run it and see if it improves.
#2
have you uninstalled. Norton...if so get rid of the live update Symantec as you no longer require it.

You would be advised to keep the .net framework!

For the rest, should be okay to keep them. I am not sure what Otto or OCA Client are, but things like Quicktime and Apple Software Update, Sonic encoders will be okay to remove - though I wouldn't as it will just be a pain in the arse when you want to watch a Quicktime file and you have to reinstall it.

I ain't sure what the Acer software does - but I can't see that - or anything for that matter - on that list that would slow down your machine.

Are you specs any good? Try a program called FreeRAM XP. Frees your RAM, stays in your tray. Good freeware
#5
what is quicktime?
#6
Apple software. Itunes make you install it. Its rubbish imo!
#7
remove unnessary programs, and go run > msconfig, startup > view ur startup items list, remove anything that DOESNT need to be running at startup, this allows less ram to be used before u even start on windows and decreases boot time

thanks guys iv just done that thing where i click on run and msconfig and onto startup i disabled EVERYTHING,was sick of everything always starting up at the beginning, now my comp is SUPER compared to what it was.
whilst i was the msconfig i went onto services and disabled them all,and when i restarted my computer it presented itself in the old format (not xp style),so i just went back on it and enabled everything.most of the services in the list id never heard off,is there a way where i can disable all the services but still have the XP style format, would this speed up my computer. There was a huge list of services BTW

Thanks for that

does norton slow down your computer,iv heard it does is there any free alternatives like AVG what are better.

Try disabling the start up one at a time and see which one removes the way you like xp.
AVG free is perfect for most people. Norton couldn't find a virus in a NHS hospital ward.
