I'm looking for a cheap webcam that is good for recording videos.

I came across this, but didn't understand quite what it means.

See first post for link to product and its description.

Digital still image resolution: 16.0 megapixel (with software boost / upscaling). Video Resolution: 5.0 megapixel (with software boost / upscaling);Frame Rate: 320 x 240 26 fps / 640 x 480 16 fps

My questions:
What is software boosting / upscaling?
For doing simple videos (ie. not sports, or anything that requires image stabilising, etc.), will the frame size and fps be adequate quality?

I'm looking for as cheap as possible, and it should have lights to lighten up an area if/when needed.

Intended use: mounted on a tripod to record a demonstration of me doing something (ie. preparing a meal).
Thanks!

video capture of 1280x720 .. Hd level entry eg 720p..

no idea if this is any good that is your job to find out if people are happy with them / look for reviews etc.

The still picture specs say 3 mp but * indicates software enhanced to 3.0. So basically it's a 1.3 mega pixel stills camera, but for video capture 1280x720 is far better than vga and should be the lowest resolution you buy, nobody should use VGA eg 640x480 it's horrid.

some other colours
