Concert/Gig Ear Plugs

Hello, since I shall be attending quite a few gigs in the next half year I was wondering if anybody could advise or recommend some good damage-preventing ear plugs but ones specifically designed for gigs/music. Someone once mentioned them to me and apparently they don't ruin the experience but cut out certain frequencies to prevent damage, I know nothing about them and was hoping for some advice, cheers!

I'm sorry, but if you are worried about damaging your ears and are wanting to wear ear plugs then live concerts and not for you. They will ruin the whole experience and you are clearly someone that cares too much.

There's definitely more to the experience than just the noise. I'd get some of the foamy rubbery earplugs from factory suppliers like screwfix or similar. Get the ones with the lanyard, then you can keep them dangling round your neck when away from the wosrt of the noise. I used to love concerst and gigs, but it has seriously damaged my hearing (although it appears I had an underlying problem anyway, made worse by the exposure).

Just sit at home and watch the live DVD on mute.

You could try asking the band politely if they would mind turning the noise down just a tad.

It's not that I haven't been to any gigs before, it's more I'm worried about the amount I've been to and will be going to in the future. If there's a way to protect your ears without losing the sound quality then that seems like a win win situation, hence why I made this thread to see if such a solution is available :)

Cheers for the all replies, I'll check out the advised products :)
