Quite annoyed to be honest. Email Received from TicketMaster

Dear Customer

This afternoon Michael Jackson producers will be announcing the rescheduling and change of the opening shows in order to meet the challenges presented by such a large and technically complex concert.

Please allow us to apologise. It was not an easy decision to change the schedule but in the end we wanted to ensure that all of Michael's fans attending the concerts get the same quality in staging and level of entertainment.

We are writing to let you know that the 10 July concert that you purchased tickets for at the O2 arena has now been rescheduled for 1 March 2010. The tickets you receive will be printed with the rescheduled date and you will have the same seat originally purchased. You do not have to do anything as you will be automatically allocated the same seats and moved to the revised date.

If you cannot attend the revised date and want a full refund including booking fee, please contact us at [email protected] or via our Michael Jackson Support line on 0844 277 9982.

Tickets will be dispatched closer to the event date.

Thank you for your understanding. Michael, who is directly involved with all aspects of the styling/choreography/band selection and rehearsals, is working around the clock to ensure this is the show to end all shows! We look forward to seeing you on 1st March 2010.

Regards

Jackson delays opening tour dates

Jackson announced his comeback shows in March this year

Pop star Michael Jackson has delayed the opening four nights of his This Is It UK tour at London's O2 arena.

Concert promoters AEG Live said the delay was necessary because the singer needed more time for dress rehearsals.

The first show, on 8 July, has been pushed back by five nights. Three other July dates will not take place until March 2010.

Fans, who were told of the rescheduled dates in an email, have reacted with a mixture of anger and support.

"What difference is a week going to make in the grand scheme of things?" wrote Pam A on a Michael Jackson messageboard.

"I had plane tickets booked from Canada," wrote a fan calling themselves janmic.

"I'm supposed to be returning home on July 9th. I am really not impressed."

The affected dates are as follows:

8 July - moved to 13 July, 2009
10 July - moved to 1 March, 2010
12 July - moved to 3 March, 2010
14 July - moved to 6 March, 2010

Oh dear!!! Can't say I'm surprised but somewhat relieved I couldn't get through now!!

Seems unlikely he will complete all if any of the dates!!
[helper]#2
I feel really sorry for people who have booked transport and hotels etc - I hope they can change these or get refunds.
#3
I have now lost all respect for him and Ticketmaster. According to the BBC, the date before (8th), is rescheduled for the 13th June. Mine is March 2010!
To be honest, I probably won't be able to make it as I will be at uni!

one of my friends has booked a hotel and train already, and can't get a refund on them.... she's fumeing, I would be too.
#5
what a non surprise, next years will end up being cancelled,I would put money on it

If you cannot attend the revised date and want a full refund including booking fee, please contact us at [email protected]">[email protected] or via our Michael Jackson Support line on 0844 277 9982. Good for that but not so good if you booked a room, bus or train tickets etc as not likely get a refund on some of them,or they keep a certain %. I know a lot of people probably booked Travelodges on Saver rate as they just do for 1 night after a concert and they are non refundable usually.
Shame public transport doesn't run for a couple hours more for those not that far away who willing to travel back after concert.

Hasn't he got cancer? I heard it yesterday.

Sorry, but lol. Its so not going to happen (and if it ever does it will be unbelievably crap....)

What were you expecting? It all to go smoothly and to be the show-of-the-century???

I haven't had an e-mail......does that mean my show date is going ahead ? :? Don't mind if they reschedule as already going to a sci fi expo that weekend at Earls Court :-D so won't lose any money on hotel bookings

Is that confirmed?!
I am still surprised you arent taking me on your night seeing as its my birthday. Ah well, the 30th will have to do.
banned#17
Bit screwed up for people who were looking forward to being there on opening night.

Doubt these will be the only cancelled shows.
#18
To be honest ime not surprised, i deliberately chose the ticket date i got because i thought there maybe a few problems that would need to be ironed out on the first few dates, and i didnt want late dates incase bits started to fall off him. I got the 26th july but after reading this thread ime going to hold off booking hotel and train for a bit longer..I carnt wait though its sooooo exciting ...

was on the news the other day after he blew out Copperfield.....lucky for me as I didn't get to see Criss in Vegas :-D

if anything happens to my mates you're first refusal but one has already threatened me after I said I could get loads on Ebay for the tickets and hotel deal I got :whistling:

We're really excited too...... I booked hotel same day and got the Raddison really cheap, no availability now so maybe worth checking as some won't charge you until 48 hours before the date :)
#21
Looking back on it, i'm not too bothered. I can see these tickets going for much more nearer the time, so I'll end up selling on there and profiting well
Going with my bro in September now instead :-D

Thanks for that .
Ime going down with my 12yr old,he,s never been to London so thought we could have a couple of nights show him the sights etc..Ive looked at the Mayfair on park lane and if i book now its a lot cheaper but will have to pay now, got the free friends and family rail card (off this site) so train fare is only £15 return ..
#23
Mine was supposed to be the 14th of July. Im very annoyed about it, if i wanted later tickets then i would have bought later ones.
#24
Mine was the 14th as well, now moved to 6th March. Person im going with cannot go on this date as they are flying off on hols. Anyone want to swap tickets so that my friend will be able to see MJ.

Not too fussed about dates. What you got?

Ticketmaster will not do anything apart from offer a refund, rubbish
#25
so p***ed off with it to, was going to the 4th show now the last, got a refund, hope they all get cancelled n he ends up broke, he deserves it
#26
It really is out of order, they have taken no consideration to there so called priority customers (first 10 shows with preview code) they have now dumped us at the end of the tour wheres the priority in that

We should all make a stand against ticketmaster
#27
Jumpingphil
Why on earth would you do that.
Who's fault do think it is that the concerts have been put back?

Ticketmaster, for booking the date so close to the end of Madonna's stint, which is suspected by various folks to be the real reason for the delay. There's only something like 3 days in between, which I guess just isn't enough between two such large shows.
#28
its AEG, MJ, O2 and ticketmaster

I am only annoyed at ticketmaster as they are not doing anything to try to resolve the issue and this is the only point of contact us people have and it is them who sell the tickets

Petition at http://gopetition.com/petitions/michael-jackson.htmlRegards

lets all get it signed
