You can pick up a HDMI cable for less than a fiver delivered nowadays. Try Play.com, eBuyer etc...

Steven he has a HDMI cable, just not the official one which comes bundled with the audio dongle for the AV port. I don't think u can get them on their own new, ebay has them 2nd hand but theyre going for rip-off prices £10-£15+....

I've looked and can't find any 3rd party versions that exist, coz imo this dongle shouldn't cost more than a fiver :x If u find one let me know:thumbsup:

You can rip the casing of the component cable and use that at the same time.

I don't really understand why there aren't any cheap third party ones either, the MS price is a joke especially as they won't sell it on its own.

The cheap way to do it at the moment as mentioned above is just to open the component cable as the only reason it doesn't work is because the block doesn't physically fit.

I just bought an elite online(upgrading).

Does the packed-in HDMI cable have a digital audio out port like the component cables?

Also do I need the data transfer cable if I have a spare memory unit?

Sorry to butt-in to the thread. Any info would be greatly appreciated

The Elite comes with an adio adapter so you can connect using an optical cable.

If you want to get all your info from the old HDD then YES, you will need a transfer cable. They are free from MS.
