Hi all,
currenty considering moving from London to Maidstone -Perry Street Me14 2RP. I have looked into the schools, crime rates and shops but would like some first hand experience if anyone could help. Is this a decent part of Maidstone and how would people rate Maidstone overall? Thanks :)

would you really let the opinion of random people on an internet shopping forum shape a decision like this?

maidstone isnt too bad and this address is fairly near the high street and maidstone east train station and the river, town get quite lively at night as there are a lot of clubs/bars and it's very popular for a night out,so if you are fairly young then you will enjoy this, shopping is quite good also.green spaces are not too far away either.hope that helps a bit.

No, I have researched all I can as an outsider and just thought I would ask anyone who may have personal experience of the area.

Thats exactly why I want to go there and yes, I agree, I probably will get bored - but hopefully if I can get my kids into a good school, the good will outweigh the bad. :) Thanks

I am not a huge fan, quite a lot of the area is now dated apart from the previously mentioned fremlin walk or whatever it is called. There are nicer places in kent but it depends on your budget ect. Its not a bad place, but I don't really visit it alot, I would say its above average for Kent on the whole, but still not great. I prefer some of the smaller towns such as Whitstable or places such as tenterden. Sevenoaks and tunbridge wells are also lovely but very pricey!!!!!!!
