Consumer advice needed

We got married last September, and my wife bought some shoes which she was told she could subsequently get dyed for £15 at the same shop. So in October she handed over her shoes, and was told it would be two weeks (they needed to be sent off to the dyers).

For one reason or another the shoes still haven't arrived back from the supplier to the shop, but the shop keep saying, "probably next week".

What are our rights regarding the shoes:

-Can we simply demand them back and what happens if the shop refuse?
-If they come back now do we still have to pay, as we were told they would be guaranteed back by Christmas (although obviously we have no evidence of this?

Any advice would be much appreciated!

I would think that they have lost them and are hoping you will forget about them.
Ask for them back and give them a firm date when you want them back tell them you need them for a special party. If they still have not appeared demand the cost of replacing the shoes.

If they turned up correctly dyed you could pay but I would at least be inclined to haggle the cost because of the delay

And what are our rights if they refuse? Would it have to be a small claims court?
From previous conversations they seem to suggest the problems are at the suppliers end, but we're very sceptical!

Do you know if they are they directly doing it through their company or acting as a broker and getting it done through an associated or third party company (who charge them less than what they are charging you)??

They are technically acting as a broker, as the shoes have been shipped off back to the producer. But we know a lot of the delays are their fault as, for example, when we went back after two weeks they hadn't even been sent yet, as the shop said they were "waiting for a group to post..."
