Hi my name is **************** and I was interviewed last week for the vacancy of ---------------. I was wondering if any decision had been made yet with regards to that vacant position?

and take it from there

Good luck

I personally would be as straight forward as possible with them. No sucking up, but just say "Hello, my name is _______ and I attended an interview last week for the vacancy of _______ . I've been worried that I may have been out and missed a call from yourselves this week whether I was lucky or not with the vacancy."

This will at least open a conversation with the recruiter and possibly an answer.

At this time of the night that's all I can think of, sorry.

I'd go with the andy Wedge wording and certainly avoid words like "worry" and "lucky"! With Andy's approach the inference can be that you know you are a great asset to their company, you think the oppertunity with then will be interesting / rewarding but are wondering whether you should put off any further the other offers you have.

If there are other jobs go for them also - don't hold off

Of course I know nothing.. just my two cents...

No, I would ring. It shows that you are eager. If no decision has been made yet then it can't do any harm to express that you are still keen. If a decision has been made and they just haven't contacted you (yet) then at least you have peace of mind

I can't see it hurting as you're genuinely interested in the job; hopefully that'll come across rather than you seeming needy or desparate.

Best wishes - hope you get a good result

Nothing to stop you doing that anyway.

If I was a busy recruiter, I wouldn't want every potential applicant ringing me.

Obviously they have not made a decision yet, otherwise they would have contacted you by now.

That's not always the case, there are many unprofessional professionals out there that don't practice what they preach.

If you really want to work with this company, go with Andy's advice,.
