Not heard anything, but not really expecting to get it for a fiver...

I think the most they would push to is knocking a fiver off the price if anything was to come from this.

I just logged onto HMV.co.uk and my order status is now cancelled!! I'd have liked to have been informed by email though!! But I've never had good customer service from HMV whenever I've used them so I'm not surprised!!

EDIT: you beat me to it Bookie! I must have been typing my post as you were!! :-D

i phoned hmv - apparently they are sending emails out to all who ordered this. saying a load of rubbish basically and wriggling out of it! i told the guy i would be contacting consumer rights and he gave me his extension and name and said if im not happy when i get the email to phone him back and he will se if theres anything they can do - wait and see. neva mind- always knew we wouldnt get it, shame tho, they really shouldnt be able to do this should they?

Yep - I didn't write as much as you though :)

I only logged into my account to check on another order that was dispatched last week that hasn't been received yet. No email to confirm the cancelation re Halo though :x

I'm sure there must be something written into their terms & conditions saying that they can back out of a transaction if theres a pricing error but I'm more than willing to be proved wrong if anyone out there knows retail law?!!:)

Just checked My Account and it now says:

Your order has been cancelled, no goods will be sent to you


Don't bother email me and tell me will you. Oh, you didn't.

Heres my cancellation email,they never state the truth that they made the mistake of offering it for £5.

Yeah - and I ordered pretty much straight away...

I just love the way they say it shouldnt have been available for pre-order rather than admitting their mistake. Thats what hacks me off more than if them cancelling the order. I never expected it but I dont like being lied to! :(

They should change the 'M' in HMV from Masters to Misprice...

It's eight times the price, but I'm happy with my £39.99 preorder at Amazon. No cancellations yet :)

What nonsense, the item IS available for preorder just like the other 2
versions of EXACTLY the same game which are still available for preorder
now, just like EVERY other game you have which is on pre order. i could
kind of understand you wishing to cancel the order if there was something
actually wrong with the order, however there is nothing wrong with my
order. i did find it strange that it was advertised at £69.99 yet the
basket showed £5.00, however , to quote about 3 of your customer support
team on items ordered previously " it is the price shown in the basket you
pay, not any other price we may have advertised". i also have this HMV
policy in an email sent from your very selves.
i fully expect HMV to continue with my order and i eagerly await the
release of this fantastic looking game at the basket price.

I paid for the order with a £5 e-voucher, which was debited from my e-wallet, and like hot above, it has not been refunded - surely this mean they have actually taken payment for the order?

I'd say that counts as them having received payment. contact them and demand that your order be continued and completed.

Are you serious, this is the internet, mistakes happen, you will get at best a reply but we all know it was a mistake and you all jumped on that mistake and flooded it.

I have had many price error orders, 360 Hard drive for £40 from Woolworths (rrp £70) cancelled for price error, Xbox live 360 camera £10, price error, this list goes on.

Ive tried a few pricing errors too, the worse one was the hamleys one, its always a chance worth taking, but never go hoping too much that they will honour it!

Yes that's fine, I've just received an email too and like most on here didn't really expect to get it at that price. However it would be nice for them to at least be honest and say they made a mistake! Not a load of rubbish about them not taking pre-orders! :x

why would i not be serious?

when they advertised HD DVD's in february i ordered 2 films, however the advertised price was different to the basket price by 1/3 in THEIR favour and they stated that it mattered not what the actual advertised price says, they ONLY take the basket price as this is the TRUE price.
i have emails prooving that THIS is THEIR policy.
so, they refuse to sell me superman returns HD DVD for £16.99 which was the advertised price, because the basket price stated it was £23.99 and they quoted company policy to me, i fully expect them to adhere to THEIR own policy of charging the basket price.

you cant have your cake and eat it, either they LIED to me about the company policy previously, in which case i have all the correspondance emails, OR they are lying about it now.

i could understand it if they had told me that they were both mistakes, however they havent, they have stated something as fact and due to this , i will fully expect them to stick to their own rules.

i dont normally whine and moan when something is a misprice, but in HIV's case i will because they are lying to customers time and time again. either admit you messed up and try and rectify it or be prepaired for some of the customers to continually complain until something is done.

if they would admit somehting peopel would still mail them complaining but i dont like teh fact they always wriggle out of it with excuses and lies, i'll be mailing them, just so they will have 2 take me out of their inbox with all the other agree hmv customers
