Andy Johnson when he left Palace.
#2
i was thinking you on a bout beckham
[mod]#3
...oh dear....the first two players mentioned are both English!
#4
Darren Bent

Harry Kewell
#5
A bit old these ones but;

Lee Sharpe & Nicky Butt when they left Manchester United, Steve McNanaman & Robbie Fowler both when they left Liverpool.
#6
A controversial one to throw in the mix

Wayne Rooney
banned#7
Berbatov.

He's gone really downhill now.

Just a bit, He's been a star at United
#9
I'm just going to look through the Tottenham squad over the past few years, they've ruined a lot of good players

But for now;

Shevchenko

Berbatov.

He's gone really downhill now.

He'd be further down at Spurs
#11
I'll throw Saha into the mix too
#12
What's that, err, i think Irish bloke Portsmouth bought?

Was it David Healy
[mod]#13
Great responses. Surprisingly it was Tottenham that lead me to make this thread. Remember all the hype with Lennon? Wright Phillips is 100 times the player Lennon is.
I agree with most but Butt left United past his prime. Saha was always injured but when fit he was a 15-20 goals a season man. I also like the way Bentley was likened to Beckham. He will never reach the heights Beckham did.
Shevchenko; poor.

Yep, Saha's general performances were good
#15
Calum Davenport
Andy Reid
Mido (after the successful loan spell)
Chimbonda (not quite sure what happened to him, quality at Wigan, started well at Spurs then sort of fizzled out)

I'll do some other teams players

Mascherano at West Ham - Couldn't even get into the first XI
Wright Phillips at Chelsea
Scott Carson - Was the next best thing at Liverpool, had a good season at Villa now playing at WBA
Ben Foster - Maybe a bit premature as he hasn't had the best of luck with injuries but what happened to him after a good loan spell ith Watford
Giles Barnes - Wanted by every man and his dog a year ago, now still paying for Derby I think

Now for the legend that was Veron and just for fun Rebrov

McClown ruined him, he was very good at Villa, right up to the Croatia game where he made a mistake, and he was never the same since, sapped his confidence

Agree, Taggart hasn't nurtured his talent.

When Wayne Rooney is on form (which yes, I agree isnt as often as it should be) he is untouchable. It didnt help his cause by scoring a hat trick in his Champions League debut!

Who are Wisla Krakow?

We've had our fair share of flops here it just sems that Tottenham seem to have so many more than other teams

In 2 years time i'll add some more players to my list;

Modric
Bentley
Dos Santos

You might as well add Bentley and Dos Santos now...
Campbell who has just come on is a class act. I wouldnt be surprised if he gets one tonight...So much enthusiasm.

the great dogger himself... Stan Collymore

I don't rate him personally, he has got some skill but such a poor attitude from what I see of him last season, I think he's a bit light weight for the Premier League

Give him a few years though and you never know, I think another loan in the Championship would have done him well this season rather than Tottenham, or at least a loan to Hull so he could get some more playing time in a squad he is comfortable in

I'm not surprised you don't know! They are European (Polish) - in a competition you need to win something or finish high enough to qualify for! :w00t:

also michael owen and robbie fowler.

We finished last season at the top of the injury table, does that mean we get a bye into Europe?

Foster's got a great future but hard to compete against keepers like Van Der Sar, Kuzszak is a keeper with a little more experience etc..

Veron, Kliberson, Forlan and Bellion were massive flops at United

there was me forgetting berbatov was one of the most wanted players this transfer period, oh, and the one before that... etc etc.
Yeah spurs realllly ruin players.
Funny considering defoe is one of pompey's best players atm... yet they constantly used him as a sub. Ha.

Every single ball tonight from Bentley has been poor.
I do rate Bale highly though.

The ratio isnt good in Spurs favour. Its when good players go to a club and should be great. Not when great players go to a club and turn out after development to be good.

I remember when Bellion was here, he wasn't very good, nor was his French friend Aliadere from Arsenal

Lol you ruin more players than you develop, surely you can admit that

Anyway Leighton Baines anyone?

Was very highly rated when he joined Everton, was kept out of the squad though by Lescott amongst others
#35
Oh how can i forget

Freddie Ljungberg

I agree. He is not a shadow of the player he once was at Man Utd.
