How long should i do a tilapia fillet for in the oven? And on what heat?

I bought it from tescos and whilst i normally cook fish no problem this is the first time i have cooked it, there is conflicting info out there ranging from 6 minutes to 20!!

i would liken it to cod to be honest, not massively full of flavour but a nice fish nonetheless. well worth trying.

I love my fish!

lol i dunno it tastes like fish but not like really 'fishy' like say mackerel or sardine, depends how you cook and flavour it as well i cook mine with lots of chilli peppers :whistling: and exotic spices

oh thanx, I sea now

Yeh most fish needs a bit of flavour doesn't it?

I remember years ago people, friends raving on about trout, jees what a boring fish without flavour:thumbsup:

yea i guess but some people just add salt to it, i use so many spices that you might not actually get the true flavour of the fish :w00t:

try hot oven for about ten minutes@ 180, if you unsure press the fish at the meatiest part if its really soft you need a few more minutes, if it's solid it is overcooked, it needs to feel almost spongey to the touch, alternatively wrap it tight in tin foil with wine or weak stock and leave for about 15 mins, cant go wrong then.
