Looks quite messy and isn´t easy to overview when they´re all just in one huge list...

Thanks :)

DUH! Sorry that was me being blind.
Just found the "group" option.
Still can´t see anything though to make your own folders...Hmmm
Not possible?

Nope just one list is all ya get.....they need to allow folder selection to make things alot smoother..maybe like the photo channel....

Hmm that stinks.
So all I can do is group them so they´re sorted in folders by the starting letter at least.
Yeah making your own folders definitely should be allowed

It's one thing i've ben waiting for them to do on an update, i've got hundreds of albums on my ps3 hard drive but they are all in one big list , It really needs A-Z folders at least, like the films

Im sure you can put your films in their own folders. I was gonna do my little girls ones now ive just stuck 250gigs worth on hers... big long list.

I think you have to edit each title and then write in the 'album' name of your choice... im sure it was album but you'll see it in the films properties coz its blank. Then its much like the music side... just use the group by option and it should stick them all in album (or folder if u wanna call it that) of your group by choice.

Let me know coz i still havent got round to doing hers... but im pretty sure it can be done like that. Its like the 'album' side of the music, where the album is the folder you wanna call it - IE if you want a KIDS album, edit the film, write in KIDS and then group by album. Should sort it ;-)

easier way is to do the amendments on the PC before copying over to the ps3

e.g. change the ALBUM property of all the album tracks in one go. Then you can sort MP3's via Album once copied over to the PS3 and it creates a folder strructure based on the ALBUM name

same kind of principle can be applied for videos, photos etc

Yeah but that's still no good if you've got hundreds of albums, you should be able to sort them into subb folders of a-z which you can't
#8
But in the principle of films you shouldnt have hundreds, yes with music id agree souljacker, but with films even on my old xbox media centre ive only got general, kids, screeners, documentary and music. Yep you could split down more like horror, action, drama, etc etc.

So for films i think atm, until Sony come up with some better idea, this is the only way the OP is gonna get close to what he wants.

I agree but you cant so its the best way and just remember to give each album you rip from now on a title

there is bound to be a freeware utility out there somewhre to mass rename the title property based on folder name

Yeah i already know that, that's not the problem, i make sure all my albums are tagged correctly before i put them on the ps3, it would just be nice to be able to put them in sub folders, can't be that hard to put in an update

Another question.
I copied videos through the media server to the PS3.
There is no way to copy stuff back to the computer, is there? (unless I copy to an external hdd and then to the computer)
Just asking cuz if there was I wouldn´t have to keep the files on the PS3 AND the computer.
