Just got in the car to go and get petrol and I noticed (when I usually start the car they fade out) and they didn't they actually got brighter? (WTF?!) and when I lock the car they fade out aswell but they are now just constantly on what can I do...will it drain the battery any amount overnight cause they're on right now.

Thanks

should think u will be ok overnight, depending how often u use the car and how good your batts are. If u are worried take the bulb out? I am not mechanic so i could be very wrong lol

sounds dumb but are u sure it's not the reading light. On my car (astra) there's 3 lights, 2 reading, and 1 fading. Maybe check it's not the reading lights.. otherwise it sounds a bit off ^_^

The wire might have come off the switch on the door?

I'd take the bulb(s) out and look at it tomorrow.

Unless the above link is right an it's because they're switched on :D

I had the same problem when I used to have a Corsa SXI 2001 AND Corsa SXI 2004... I ended up pulling the bulb out completely, it was so annoying! I think its a common problem!

its normally the nut at the top of the wheel thats the problem, but I'd go with pushing the headlight switch in as someone has pulled the switch out.

Thanks for everyones info on the topic.

Went outside (it was still on) unlocked the car then opened the door, shut it and locked it and they faded out like normal...not sure what happened cause it didn't do it the first time!

They are seperate lights (which are located right next to them)...there are two lights that are completely automatic and have no buttons.

There are two buttons also to turn the map lights on and off maybe that could be it? Have you tried pushing the light switch in? As I also have a 2001 sxi and this is what I did when I encountered this.

Congrats on potentially the longest ever follow-up to a HUKD post = four years an four months :p
So when you push the lightswitch in to the "off" position the light will not come on, but the light does come on when the doors open? Sounds like it's working perfectly.
