Hi all,

With my partner off to uni next month we're gonna need a printer of our own. I think our best best will be an all-in-one printer/scanner/copier.

Two cheap printers I've seen are the Epson Stylus DX4450 (about £35) and the HP Deskjet F2180 for £29.99 in Wilkos. I'm very tempted to pick up the HP Deskjet when I'm in a Wilkinson this week - does anyone have one of these?
From a few quick searches I've seen that compatible carts seem to be available for the HP but often have the description "Chip fitted" - what does this mean?

Cheap carts are an absolute selling point for me - quality doesn't have to be the best and there's no way we can keep buying originals every time we're low on ink.

Would anyone recommend a cheap cartridge supplier too?

Cheers for the help guys!

Cheers, yeah I've noticed the epson compatible carts are cheap as chips and that's the selling point for me. Will prob pick an DX4450 up during the week!

Poor compatible cartridges is not the answer to any printer.

It's like putting watered down poor, fuel in your car.
