Could I sell one box of 45 air horns as a job lot?

Just wondering if I could sell some left over air horns on here?

I bought a box of 50 air horns for a new years eve party but due to a change of plan we only used 5 of them.

There is still 45 left in the box. Could I sell them on here as one sale, one person takes the lot? Or would that be breaking the rules?

Maybe a mod could clear it up for me.

Cheers.

Try gumtree or ebay.

How is that self promotion?

Edit: Oh, are you talking about the fact that he has to wait 7 days before listing now?

I can't see why not if sold as a job lot, but you'll have to wait 7 days to list them now.

No more than 5 of the same I think.

Although I would love one of these. Apparantly we aren't allowed to wear england shirts in our local pubs thanks to the police, but we plan on making a stand of it.

How much you sell them for?

seen people sell stamps as a job lot, so cant see why not, although i got a funny feeling your going to be told no you cant

What is self promotion? Are you saying I will get banned for 7 days for asking a question rather than just going ahead and listing them in the sale section?

as you have asked this in misc, you will now have to follow the fs rules and wait a full 7 days from relisting in the fs boards, that is if you get given the go ahead to sell

maybe you could show the mods a receipt to show you are not selling at profit, as thats what isnt allowed, buying to sell on at profit

I don't think you are self promoting, but if you ask about an FS item you have to wait 7days before you can list I believe. Correct me if I am wrong.

Oh, that'snot good. :(

I will try gumtree first, then Ebay. Cheers.

Think you are only allowed to sell 2 of the same product, someone will clarify exact amount, on here unless they are all different, then again this is not the ideal place to sell anything giving all the confusion about rules changing etc, most likely you would end up being scammed and possibly suspended,if you do sell on here get mods approval first and make sure you read todays rules on selling ! Good Luck.

(1) This is for personal trading and selling only. Users with an account already registered in FS/FT or FO.LK must NOT create multi user names in any forum here. NO businesses, trader like, businesslike behaviour or services. NO bulk sales of more than two of the SAME items sold separately or together as a 'lot' within a three month period. NO linking to an external business, eBay/Amazon Marketplace store.

Unfortunately this would be classed as bulk selling as you have more than 2 of the same item.
Thanks

can a box of 45 horns not be classed as one item as they are in the same box? surely a 4 pack of lager wouldn't be counted as 4 items the same but merely a multi-pack

You're sort of right, but I suppose it depends on how they're packaged.

Your 4-pack of lager is intended to be sold as a pack of 4, as is a book of 12 stamps. The Air Horns are quite possibly meant to be sold individually, but are supplied to the retailers in packs of 45 - when bought in a shop.

The receipt would more than likely show:

Air Horn - Quantity 45

rather than

Box of 45 Air Horns - Quantity 1

Which is then bulk selling when listed on here

/\
That all probably makes no sense whatsoever, but I've got a banging headache and its the best I can do :-D

Because people believe Facebook Hoaxes...

Here is the real story:

People should listen to the news more often and not take words on facebook as gospel...

The Police and England related items for the world cup is all a lot of crap, created by facebook idiots, and I am afraid all that repeat the post clearly do not listen/watch/read the news.

It seems the origin of this was a proposal by our friend Murdoch:
http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/news/2918868/Bid-to-ban-England-tops-in-World-Cup-pubs.html
But which was never enforced, and taken any further.

Another origin possibly is that the Met police sent a letter to some pubs in Croydon with “guidance” notes.

Among World Cup guidance, it suggests “dress code restrictions – eg no football shirts”.

It also urges using plastic glasses and door staff. Pubs are not obliged to follow the advice, but it warns: “Police will not hesitate to use powers under the Licensing Act should we find you are not actively supporting the prevention of crime.”

Also many police forces are even refuting this facebook hoax:

Stickers = different though, and the stamp one ASB:

"As for bulk, we'll use our common sense to allow items which can logically be bundled. 24 stamps, yes, 6 xboxes - no."

So just mods discretion, although I am sure I've seen one shut down before, but if memory serves it was 100s...and the guy worked for royal mail :whistling:

The stickers would be fine I imagine, as you can go into Wh Smith etc and buy a box of them (there's a barcode on the bottom of the box and it scans at £50) All the OP is selling is the one item they purchased. I had to do it for my eldest last year with some football stickers.

The stamps could be taken either way. You usually buy them in 12's , so the OP in that thread could be seen as selling 2 books of 12 (even though they've got four lots of 6 - they look like books ripped in half).

its a shame mods cant use discretion when it comes to something like this, as long as proof can be shown of cost and no profit is being made then surely that is that, the bulk selling rule is to stop profiteering

the stickers can be purchased as one pack or as a box, maybe the horns where purchased the same, one item or a box of 50

Exactly

It's not like someone could run a business on here selling stamps/football stickers, and then retire off of the profits :-D

make sure they all different colours. although i lost most of mine years ago

think the mods should be concerned with the members that buy and sell mobile phones or computers quite frequently, they are more likely to be the ones profiteering

although of late i think cosmetics and stuff would fall under the above too

I know kids go through loads of clothes etc but I can't believe for a second that all the clothing that gets sold on here are gifts or hand me downs, maybe some of those threads should be looked into as well but like the multiple listings stuff I doubt it will.
The cynic in me thinks a blind eye will be turned as it increases the traffic and the number of threads on folk just as they are still trying to push the thing.

i totally agree with the latter, the only way this will stop is if people stop dealing with them, but no one is going to do that, i mean a bargain is a bargain
