Well it seems Trumps first sanctioned counter terrorism hasn't exactly gone to plan with military officials citing a lack of intelligence and lack of ground support as reasons for the US losing one of their own and there also being a number of civilian casualties.

There's a few links from different sites before the biased accusations begin.

Personally, I believe this is the exact sort of thing that incites terrorism in the first place. Stop trying to dictate how people on the otherside of the world should live there lives and they'll probably be a lot less annoyed!

Discuss.

If I read your post correctly then you condone the actions of the nutjobs who organise terrorist attacks on innocent holiday makers and shoppers etc, but condemn any action to take them out?

What's the difference between the two groups other than intentions?

If we kill civilians how are we any different?

The two countries around Yemen, Saudi and Oman (Oman to a greater extent) do not really like the US. They have essentially always choosen to favour the UK when the US tried to pressure them under its influence after WW2. The countries have made a point of leaving the US on the side where ever possible and reaffirmed UK ties, publically, as often as possible to this very day.

Both nations do not want Yemen (formally Aden) issues to spill over in to there countries, but know also that's unlikely. So while they are happy for the US end action there, they would both be happy to see the Yemen under there influence rather then that of the US. In fact Oman has just allowed and part financed a UK base in the country.

You can be rest assured Saudi and Oman will let America make a mess there if wants to and will offer few helps. Trump would be wise to keep out, as I am sure he will learn!

Oh well, if you want to call terrorists 'civilians' then I would call Special Forces 'peacekeepers'.

It would be best to keep this as discussion on US relations with the East in general before it becomes another Trump thread. We all remember Obama's third day in charge I'm sure.

The days when the US and it's minions could march into a country, bomb them to oblivion and then just walk away are over. These days people want revenge. They don't have drones or advanced missiles so the only thing they can do is use what we call 'terrorism'. We hurt them they hurt us. I wish our leaders had the common sense to understand this. Our solution is to let the security services do their job and thwart any attacks whilst the government adopts a no-invasion policy. This extremism will eventually die out.

Marines also lost an MV-22 Osprey vertical-takeoff-and-landing aircraft to extract the SEALs. which was damaged on landing during the raid, so was destroyed by a precision guided bomb. MV-22s cost around 71 million USD.

We rarely hear of the successes (and why would we need to ) - just be thankful you are safer because of the actions taken by some governments to protect all innocent civilians - Yes you too !

As I understood it, they just killed a load of innocent civilians?

The deadly raid, which left a Navy SEAL, an 8-year-old girl and several other civilians dead, was planned before the Obama administration left office on Jan. 20
