Can anyone recommend somewhere in the York and surrounding area a nice place to have a cream tea!!

I want to treat my OH to one tomorrow and he has to have a fresh cooked scone and proper clotted cream so looking for somewhere nice and perhaps off the beaten track.

Obligatory 'Bettys' reply (but be prepared to queue at peak times!)

I thought that too but I didn't have a choice! Was good though and if you don't go at the more 'popular' times you can walk straight in.
