Seeing as it is a little quiet on here, I would love to get to know you all. I have a couple of hobbies at the moment apart from being a lady geek and buying handbags, perfume etc... I have recently got a digital camera and I have been enjoying taking pictures. I have uploaded some and the new ones are in Fairground and Household sets - http://www.flickr.com/photos/geekybird. I also make greetings cards for loved ones. I did used to sell them but nobody wants to pay for the time or the effort so I am not selling them here - or anywhere else for that matter. (Please can I add my link to show everyone now)

* I also make handmade greetings cards when a special birthday is coming. I used to sell them but since QVC and other channels began showing crafting stuff, everyone wants to sell for next to nothing. Feel free to leave a comment on my stuff or constructive criticism - http://www.flickr.com/photos/evrae_lisa

lol....
Thats ok then..
But as its my girlfriends birthday coming up and she loves me to you...
Would you consider making me one haha...
after all it could be classed as recycling older cards;)

theres a huge photo thread on here that you'll probably enjoy.

I tend to get myself covered in oil paints acrylic and pencils/ink rather than mess around with cameras.

@ kmac - Sorry I missed your post then, I want 1 now but they are expensive.

Well I can hardly plead ignorance to it now you mentioned it. Send me a me to you card and I will recycle it for you at a charge! lol

@ ants97 - I will have to find it as it as I am wanting to learn more and more.

I have just had my cards link removed but I am NOT trying to sell my cards here. I would like to show them to people and get comments either good or bad.

I too make my own cards, a great but expensive hobby. I started out with a couple of pieces of card and some glitter pens, saw a job lot on the bay for £60 in Hull, travelled across country to get it and almost couldn't fit it all in. Unfortunately for the seller it had been his mothers collection who had sadly passed away. I got £100s of pounds worth of items which set me up a tareat. However Lakeland and Ellison sales have since seen me spend near on £1000 if not more. It's an addiction!
I also do scrapbooks for friends birthdays but the time it takes to make those is ridiculous! Worth it in the end though!
#8
I know what you mean lol. A wooden stamp costing a tenner not inc the ink, embossing powders and heat gun. I love Sakura pens, I was strapped before Xmas and sold them, people bid high for them pens. I have scapbooks to but I am in it for instant completion:p

Yeh, I've never bought sakuras except for those in the pound shop of xmas 07, bought loads then! I got into penny blacks briefly but find them a little overrated now-EVERYONE uses them! I hate these self make kits on QVC where you pop things out and stick them on, completely stifles creativity. I shall try and upload some pictures of my fave cards to show you..including one for a uni friend who was obsessed with the cravendale adverts! (yes the milk company!)

I would love to see your cards, the Cravendale milk is attracted to those who like Hello Kitty too.

Disclaimer; These cards are not and have not ever been for sale. They were made by myself for friends and family and have been given away long ago! I AM NOT SELLING THESE CARDS!!

That was an anniversary card for my boyfriend as I always had the electric blanket on and he used to have to turn it down when I dropped off!!

They are all lovely! We have a similar style don't you think? Have you seen mine?

I especially love the Gordon Ramsey card lol, who did you send that to, your Mum?

Yes, my mum's a cook who loves G.R so I popped 'MUM' peel offs on the apron pouch and it was her mothers day card :)

We do have a similar style, I've looked through yours too, we are both bright and colourful and like backing papers! I haven't figured out how to use the computer for my cards yet though which you seem adept at.

Do you like decoupage? I have a few sheets that came in my job lot...hate the bloody things, not got the patience. I don't know how you manage teabag folding!

Forgot to say Thankyou, and yours are lovely too! you have more than me! lol

The blanket 1 is cute. I don't really like decoupage, always looks a little tacky to me but some people like it. I love teabag folding and making japenese kimonos and HANDBAGS out of paper. I am always tinkering with Photoshop and Paintshop so use them for every hobby if I can. I used to make personalised backgrounds and toppers for people but the copyright police forum members pounced on me so I DON'T make them for anyone else any more. If you know the basics of paintshop, I don't mind giving a few tips to help you make your own though.

very nice photos...and never try to justify blurred photos such as the lights at the fair one...just say you used a longer shutter time to achieve the cool effect
Some of the best photos ive seen are using long shutter times, and blurred, and out of focus...as long as used right anything can look good remember photography is art, and art will always be liked by some and disliked by others.

Thankyou, You may well find a PM in your inbox yet asking for help, as of now, i like the challenge of having to use what I have! (plus it gets people off my back for buying so much!)

Dissertation is in soon so havent made one since mothers day and won't for some time now. Will need to sell a lot of it soon as I have a craft room in my student digs but not for much longer!

I have to recommend this for storage as a random off topic subject;

Fantastic for storing stamps, i have all of mine in sections i.e. birthday, christmas, etc and my ink pads in one and my embellishing powders etc in another, its really spacious but not imposing on the room. i bought one brand new and then picked another up in an oxfam for £3.99, bargain!

Where abouts in England are you? I'm midlands. x

I used to be a member on Do Crafts but got so fed up of the bitching I gave it up, people were complete asses on there it wasnt worth my time going on, everyone thinks they're the best and that their opinion was so much better than yours, horrible community and very cliquey.

I have them plastic storage trolleys. I have trimmed down my clutter a lot in the past 6 months... Since my love of handbags actually. So my card making stuff is very minimal. I can knock up a card providing I have some ds tape, glue pen, my trustly paper guilotine and ink in my printer with a few peel offs, gems and glitter and that is it really. I loved my medallion stamps but to be honest they took ages cutting out each layer and when I made it, I used to forget what I wanted it for lol. Plus the heat gun and embossing powders made me chesty (I have asthma).

Oh I went there for a short while, they don't much care for the right of an opinion do they. A great forum - search google for "Card making and papercraft forum" and they were a great bunch. Helpful too. I haven't been on for a while but usually bob on just before Xmas to share ideas and find what the new seasonal colours are (Yes cards have fashion too).

I have been creative again this evening. I have been making a chocolate cheesecake. (Not sure on the rules regarding replies to a none trade topic but if I am breaking them, please delete this reply. Wanted to comment on my being creative.
