Just opened post and a brand new Credit Card for the previous owner has arrived... I'm sick of receiving their post for the past 18 months!

Now, what should I buy?

i would just put back in the post box with not known at this address on it? unless you want to call his bank?
Redirecting costs money and is for a limited time...and i still have mail goes to a house i have tenanted 8 years on!
#13
Put them in an envelope, write on it "Addressee to pay postage". They soon stop sending out the mail.
#14
mark on envelope (actually make a sticker/rubber stamp) :
"RETURN TO SENDER
addressee moved out 18 months ago, no forwarding address.
(bank name) might want to check application again"

............. Could always book yourself a nice cruise :p

best thing to do is take it into bank it belongs to hsbc whatever - say you found it on the ground - you might get £50 reward - make sure you give your details in and get receipt for it

when a card is reported lost or stolen - whoever finds and returns it to the gets a £50 thank you (i hope they are still doing this)

Can you actually open the post if it is not addressed to your name?

We used to get the previous owners post. We just rip them to destroy the address bit and bin them cos thats what he asked us to.

Seems you can open post sent to your address. It's illegal to interfere with mail on it's journey to the final destination.

just got back in from the school run as I'm working from home today... interesting that
1: someone can run up debts and make my credit rating suffer
2: i might get a reward for 'finding' the card (lol)
3: you bad bad people... telling me to spend all that money illegally
4: my name is PC Walker and I am coming round to your establishment NOW!

I'm a livein landlord been tenanting my bedrooms for a few years now, so I tend to get all sorts of posted. Using some Viking Direct labels I tend to print off 2-3 sheets of the new address of tenants that have left and forward any post they until they run out, after that I have a load of "RETURN TO SENDER" ones which goes on all subsequent and other post that comes.

Once a week I tend to just batch post them all or when I next go to the postbox.

Unless you have been in your home for several years you should expect other peoples post for some time, also check out http://www.mpsonline.org.uk/mpsr/

been in my home several years .. still get post for previous owners. our lawyers dealt with estate agent so no contact with the previous owners, no forwarding address. usually i just send it back to sender marked on it.

once a DVLA notice came for an abandoned vehicle registered to them and kept being sent to us - grrrr annoying!
