My daughter had her hair curled in the shopping centre at the weekend. The company who did it were called herstyler and they tried to flog us the curling wand for £90! I liked how they made my daughters hair look. They were like a wand and you wrapped hair aound it.

My question is - do normal tongs where you put the hair in the grip bit and twist it do the same thing? Any recomendations? Thanks!

I bought my daughter the Herstyler ones for about £40 from a company on ebay, they are very good and give a curl unlike normal tongs. Takes a while to get used to handling them though. :)

Hi,
Im a hairdresser and the wand you are talking about is very good and trying to curl your hair with straighteners does not have the same effect. You can buy them in Argos cheap enough as thats where i bought mine.

I was looking at these http://www.ukhairdressers.com/store/search.asp?search=babyliss%20conical%20wands
We tried some in John Lewis or House of Fraser (can't remember which) Birmingham, the ladies did a demo on my hair and made ringlets which looked lovely. They were really expensive which put me off but I got this email and was going to get some. Are these the same thing you are meaning?

So the ones from UK Hairdressers are the same thing I think but cheaper and do the curl/ringlet thing, brilliant ;-)
