I am going to the US Next year and need to change some money to dollars obviously.

However, I want to know is there anywhere I can purchase dollars online that allow me to choose all or some of the denominations?

ie. I purchase $100 and get eg; 3 x $20 6 x $5.

The only reason being obviously need some lower denominations for tips and all the currency places in town only have $10 and up..

thanks.

I used travelex to pick up at the airport, then you can just ask them. I doubt anywhere will have $5's in, you know when you buy stuff you get change right?
I never knew you get change. I usually just tell them to keep the 'excess'.

Theres a place in town (that's out of my way) that does actually do 5's and 1's but he doesn't know when he'll get anymore in because 'he doesn't have time to go get anymore currency'

it's a money shop and he had just under $400 in USD.

lolwtf

When I go to USA I change £50 at the Burueau de Change within Gatwick or other airport and ask for small value notes and they are normally fine about this.
Also check with your bank if tou can draw $ in ATM in States.I bank with Barclays and you can use any Bank of America ATM without any surcharge, much safer than carrying loads of notes.

Thanks.

I wont be taking a lot of cash with me.
Most of it i'm putting on a fairfx.com card - free to use (in shops etc) and only $2 charge to withdraw at an ATM with no other fee. The rate can be pretty decent (was 1.6 only a few weeks ago) and the card didnt cost me a penny so..

First time phoned to order, second time ordered online and picked up today...

Although whether we get to New York is another story (Heathrow not looking good!).
